  1. Jamie Carraghar named him as his "new comer of the season so far" on sky podcast, but what does he know compared to the football experts on here Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  2. The top 6 are clearly head & shoulders above the rest of the league. When they play well they will beat the rest , unless it's a fluke or on the day the "rest side" play out of their skin. We've had Liverpool , Spurs & Chelsea down here and they've all played well, the fact we have 1 point shows that IMO . This season the top 6 are pulling away from the rest, they all also have top top managers and are all looking so much stronger than the past 2 seasons. 2 really good sides will miss out on champions league . Trying to compare past seasons to this one is nonsense. None of them are underperforming. To finish 7th would be the best we can hope for , to finish top 6 would be a stunning achievement. As for the game. The best side won. It was men against boys in the midfield at times. However the game hinged on 3 incidents . The first goal changed the nature of the half. Until then 2-0 looked more likely than 1-1. It was a poor goal, Redmond should have been a bit stronger blocking the cross and both VvD & FF looked a bit flat footed to me, taken by surprise by Redmonds deflection. I know it's not policy to blame VvD, but I felt he could have done slightly better. The second goal was the killer. Poor defending from Bertrand to give away corner, then shocking marking from OR ( same as palace). Again , was FF flat footed ??? Finally the ending off ended any hope of a comeback and I feared it would be 5 or 6 after that. Jose played well, JRod worked hard but was starved of service. They all worked hard, but at the end of the day , Spurs had better players and when better players play well, they'll win unless you get a load of luck. I don't know why people are so down. Another day a top side will be off their game and we will do them. People have short memories Spurs murdered us last season as did Liverpool in the cup. Chelsea have handed us some lessons before this season as well. The way some people are going on , we were regularly stuffing these sides or only losing after going toe to toe with them. We've had some far far worse home performances than that since coming back up, far worse Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. He's not any worse than he has been . His kickings always been erratic, and he seems flat footed at times . By and large (palace apart) he doesn't commit massive howlers, but then he never really makes worldy saves. He seems to stop shots by being a big lump rather than any goalkeeping skills. Our defensive record has been good with him and having seen some duds over the years , he's ok for me. However , I won't be particularly upset if we move him on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Hector B the highly rated Arsenal full back named him in his side of " most difficult opponents" in the paper last week and twice motd pundits have highlighted what a good player he is this season. So not everybody shares your low opinion of him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. You are half right. A genuine attempt at the ball that results in a penalty is a yellow card. A foul denying a clear goal scoring opportunity, whether making a genuine attempt at the ball or not , outside of the area , is a red. The thinking is that a penalty is a genuine goal scoring opportunity , so one has not been denied, it is still one against one . A free kick outside the area is not one against one , so is not a clear goal scoring opportunity , so one has been denied. Therefore, had Dean blown for the initial contact outside of the box, it would have been a red anyway as there was no covering player. As he gave a red and a penalty he obviously felt that Redmond didn't make a genuine attempt at the ball. Had he thought Redmond genuinely went for the ball it would have been a yellow. I'm sure all the people moaning would be going nuts if we were denied a penalty in the same situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Complete & utter rubbish. We were only top 6 last season because Chelsea & Liverpool seriously under performed. The top 6 this season are head and shoulders above the rest of the league and if they play well, they'll beat the rest. I doubt you'll find one pundit who belives we are "underachieving" , it's nonsense . How many top 6 finishes have we had in 100+ years? Look it up , then you may realise you're writing pony. 10. A foul outside the box when the players clean through is a defo red, so he couldn't really have given him a yellow as there was no covering player . By awarding a peno he could have because under the new rules when a peno is awarded it should be a yellow unless the player had no intention of going for the ball. The issue is whether Redmond made any effort for the ball. The ref obviously deemed he didn't. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. He's just not good enough. Technical he's ok but he's one of the weakest players I've ever seen . Rose looked like a man taking the ball off his little kid for the 4th goal. Needs to be moved on, while we can still get a few quid for him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Cameron lied, he had no intention of staying on . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I can't seem to get on with my phone or tablet . One is iOS & one Android , using safari & Firefox respectively . Keep getting redirected to something called "ww 1.3d-wares.com". Anyone got any ideas what it is or how to lose it. I'm having to use tapatalk and I don't like it at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Have you been on the wine again? He wouldn't get anywhere near an all time starting 11.

  16. Interesting because we had 2 very close together (13 months between them ) and I still can't believe we managed to cope, particularly with taking them on holiday at 6 & 19 months respectively ( and with 7 & 10 year old in tow as well) . My grandson in just 10 months and when we have him to stay , both me and my Mrs wonder what on earth possessed us to have 2 so close together . I guess we had more energy when we were younger.
  17. Double post
  18. You're the one being soft. Top 5, come on you're having a laugh. Off the top of my head after a dozen Bishops Tipple's I can name 20 better the past 40 years .
  19. It was showing as sold out this morning , but this afternoon it wasn't . I presume it's season tickets being sold back to the club so it's worth it to keep checking because they'll be a lot of ST holders away this time of year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Lol , lord King " just expressing an opinion" , not based on facts. What's your " dumbest decision " based on? Personally, I'll take lord kings opinion over yours
  21. Don't talk rubbish man. There's hardly anything between them ,to say he's nowhere near as good is just showing your bias. You say carraghar picked him in his team of the season so far, well last April he called Toby the best defender in the league ( a title he's given to a Chelsea player this season not VvD). Had Toby been fit all season, maybe he'd have made the team . Both are extremely good players, to say one is nowhere near as good as the other is nonsense.
  22. Funny how we choose the hero's & vilians isn't it. We have a skate thread which contains posts about their hero to vilians , yet were exactly the same. Lovren throws his toys out of the pram and gets a move. He's a right c###. Morgan throws his toys out of the pram , way worse even twitting about it, but is made to stay and he's a hero. Had Saints given in to his demands , he'd now be a c####. But because we made his stay against his will, he's a hero. Weird.
  23. I agree £13mil for one of the best midfielders in the country would be a no brainer. Unfortunately the best aren't available. MS is ,and he's far from being one of the best, hence why he's available for £13 mil. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. He's always been overrated on here and I've seen nothing the past 2 years to justify taking him back on considerably more money than he got before.Interesting that none of the top sides are interested, including Poch who knows him better than most.
  24. Talk about red & white glasses. There's not much between them , but Toby receives rave reviews from neutrals. He's been injured this season that's the only reason he's not getting much publicity lately, nothing to do with VvD making him making him "not look close to as good as he once did ". Toby can play in midfield & full back & doesn't switch off like VvD does occasionally . I reckon if you took 100 neutrals 50 would pick Toby & 50 VvD ( I would choose Toby btw) , certainly nothing as overwhelming as your post suggest.Hes certainly not considered the best centre half in the league by everyone .
  25. The mainstream moderate Western Europeans are totally different from mainstream moderate Muslims. If a Western European had the views of moderate Muslims, they would be called an extremist. You only have to look at pictures of labour politicians addressing segregated Muslim audiences, to see exactly what I'm talking about.
