Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day

Can't resist -
It'll be Leadsom v May IMO , I guess it just depends if the membership are willing to go for a leaver . Keeping her head down during the referendum may get May over the line , but make no mistake that was a political calculation that she made . Hopefully the blue rinse brigade will see through it and pluck for Angela

Heard Galloway saying that Jezza won't jack before Chilcot as has promised his supporters that he'll apologise on behalf of the Labour party and will call Blair a war criminal . Galloway reckons that's the reason for the plot , Blairites trying to silence him prior to that. I don't believe that is the reason as lefties see Blairites everywhere, but can belive Jezza wants to hang on til then and his reasoning behind it
-
Never let one in that he should have saved , but never really saved one you thought was definitely in . Pretty decent number 2, very professional and better than Kelv or Gazza . People can take the **** as much as they like but if we end up with a number 2 that's his level I'd be happy
-
I could just about stomach her if she sacked Gideon . Talk of him becoming foreign sec would be a real ****ing joke. Remain lost this and to have two of the losers in prime positions would be a joke . I see she's also got that mad cow Anna Sloshbury in her camp. Sack both of them, make Leadsom Chancellor , Gove foreign sec , David David home sec and theyd get my vote back. Would be great if the Tories had another female pm whilst the " progressive" Labour and lib/dumbs stil haven't had one even lead their parties.
-
Who said he had no designs on the leadership , i just said he didn't back leave because of it .
-
Shame more voted leave . Happy anniversary , a week since Independence Day
-
Of course if d'Ancona says it it must be true . Blokes spot on about everything isn't he , oh apart from the referendum . The worlds a bit more complicated than guardian opinion columns pal .
-
Leadsom for me . Gove is head and shoulders above all of them imo , but carries too much baggage .
-
So Boris who according to the leave experts was only backing Brexit because he wants to be PM , is not standing . Another thing they got wrong

God I don't know how many times people need telling . There is no single market in services.

I'd be wary of buying players after a good tournament, as time and time again players flop after looking great for their country and sealing a dream move. I'd apply the same caution here . I hope the club stick to any decision they made prior to this , rather than base it on his form during the euros . His great form could result in a few more quid for us or could result in a few more quid bring added to his salary, but base any extension on the past 12 months, not the past 3 weeks. Remember our decent form occurred when he was out, and he was dire during our horrendous run -
Eagle voted for the Iraq war. Bearing in mind chilcot comes out next week I'd have thought they might have found a better stalking horse. Maybe someone not in parliament at the time or someone who voted against it.

Canada has access to the single market, is there free movement of Canadians into the Eu ?
-
Labour won't if it's in disarray, the Tories won't if they're not. There aren't many times in a political cycle when both parties want an election at the same time.
-
It's nothing to do with established way of working , its the law of the land . The fixed term parliament act means that the only way to dissolve parliament is if 2/3rds of mps vote to do so.
-
Only cracking stuff if you don't want to consign UKIP to the political dustbin . If Farage can manufacture a grievance against the establishment , they're still in business . If parliament sign up for a Norway type deal that includes free movement , they're in business . They will walk certain northern areas taking seats off labour. Of course this rather suits the Tories as Tories can never win there . Ideal senario for Tories are SNP in Jockland , UKIP in vast northern/ midland /east coastal areas , consigning labour to London and the big cities . Permanent government if they play this right
-
We have fixed term parliaments , so any talk of a "snap" election is nonsense . To dissolve parliament both labour & Tory MPs would need to vote for it for it to clear the threshold requirement of the fixed term act . What are the chances of both parties want an election at the same time? If the Tories want one when labour is in disarray , labour won't back it and if the Tories are struggling with post Brexit issues they're not going to let Labour dictate the timing . The reason for the fixed term parliament was the lib/dumbs wanted it as part of the coalition agreement to stop the Tories cutting and running when it suited them politically .So it was rather amusing to see Cleggy calling for an early election , when he made sure it was no longer in the gift of the PM .

Nobody on here knows the full facts . What will his state of mind be if we deny him this move . Will he disrupt the spirit of the club . Reed is in full possession of the facts and has decided to let him go . What more has les Reed got to do to prove himself to some of you clowns ? If we finish 5th next season and RB or VvD want out some of you lot will still be wetting the bed and claiming Reeds not good enough . So come on moaners , what does Reed need to do to win you over , buy Messi? The day Les Reed walked into this club every single one of you would have taken what's happened to this club since . Not one person would have said failure would be finishing 6th after 6 years of constant improvement . Les Reed has been a constant at this club in a fantastic spell and therefore his opinion of when to sell and for what is good enough for me . -
What makes me laugh is lots of the MP's trying to get rid of Jezza and claiming it's his performance in the eu vote are representing constituencies that voted leave . Tristain Hunt on radio today saying Jezza awful In Eu debate , yet his Stoke constituency was something like 70/30 . Same with that weirdo from Wales , underpants man . Jezza carried his patch, he's in tune with his electorate . John Mann has been telling these clowns for years but they won't listen . I'm not saying Jezza is good , he's clearly not . But these snakes turning against him in this way is shameful . One of them should man up, take on Jezza and let the party decide . Mind you they don't seem to be very good at accepting democratic mandates. I almost feel sorry for the soft arsed old leftie
-
Perhaps they should have thought of that before voting to stay in the uk . They knew a referendum was Tory policy before voting They voted to stay in the uk and the U.K. Voted to leave the EU . What do you want areas that voted remain staying and the rest of the U.K. leaving
-
Many Leicester fans were disappointed with their appointment a year ago .
-
The key for Jezza is the unions and momentum . If they say his times up, he's gone . If they support him , he'll win again
-
Cameron & Osborne need to act like statesmen instead of sulky school children . They still have a country to run

Got to laugh at the 3 million losers who've signed the online petition for a second vote. Evidently it states that any vote under 60% and a turnout of less than 75% should void the vote. Now I maybe a thick leave voter but I'd have thought these highly intelligent Remain progressives would have been better of campaigning for this before the vote. Surely the time to do it was when the referendum bill was going through the Commons and the rules were set. I guess they thought they'd win .
