  1. You forgot to add that we'll probably lose. I'll happily settle for a draw, along with a Cardiff loss to Chelsea. The latter lost 4-0 to the Cherries so their ability to screw things up cannot be underestimated. And everyone here knows we can play well against the big boys but crap against the mediocre teams.
  2. What you're describing is the problem with idiots using, not with VAR itself. Like a drunken teenager driving a Ferrari. Overall it worked very well at the World Cup.
  3. Same as penalty shootouts, but with a goal kick if saved. Good idea if true. I would also make the penalty taker be the one who was fouled (or who last hit the ball if hand ball). Only someone else if he goes off injured.
  4. Boufal at least has some talent, so who knows. Agreed about Carrillo, no point flogging a dead donkey.
  5. That depends whether Real Madrid's U21 team will be looking for a manager then.
  6. Except when they play Cardiff.
  7. This chap's also due a Shakespeare play.
  8. Exactly this. Ralph is a very good manager, but he's not perfect and he's spouting bollocks on this.
  9. So Marcelo is telling porkies. Or maybe he (Marcelo) doesn't understand Spanish himself!
  10. Thank God Pulis isn't their manager.
  11. Interesting, didn't know that about Sanchez and Aguero. Inexcusable that they haven't bothered to learn the language after all these years. They can afford to hire the best teacher if they need one.
  12. Last year's World Cup proves otherwise. A goal scoring feast and one of the best of modern times. One of the reasons, with VAR defenders quickly learned that they weren't going to get away with shirt tugging in the penalty area, giving more freedom to the side attacking.
  13. Maybe it's because he's been there for 5 years and still hasn't bothered to learn Spanish.
  14. Unless their draws are like London buses. Wait for ages, and then 2 arrive one right after the other.
  15. At the beginning of the season maybe, but we're talking less than half of a season. Tell him he's a backup until the summer, and then he's free to move on. I'm sure the snowflake could handle that without a fuss. He hasn't even been sold FFS, and Inter have indicated they're not interested in him after the loan expires.
  16. Still don't understand why the club didn't keep Cedric as back up in case Valery gets injured/suspended/knackered....
  17. Boys played really well. Today showed the difference between us and the big boys: they can afford the best strikers and referees money can buy.
  18. Key words. If Valery gets injured/suspended, or just plain knackered when we enter a run of 2 matches per week, who's going to replace him?
  19. It's becoming a bit of a concern that our 6' 7" giant seems to be bottling out of marking opponents with the biggest arial threat. The same happened against Burnley and Crouch.
  20. We'd be 8 points ahead of them (almost safe). Also if we'd drawn both matches against them. They don't call those 6 pointers for nothing.
  21. JWP seemed to cover every blade of grass. Clear MoM for me.
  22. 2-0. The most dangerous lead.
  23. OK, how about "We shouldn't have sold a striker in January"?
  24. If they didn't care about relegation why sack Hughes (costing millions)? Why be content with losing hundreds of millions of PL money? If we were in Huddersfield's position I could understand preparing for life in the Championship. The long and short of it is they are stupid beyond belief. They thought the good run under Ralph could continue, even with weakening the squad further and pocketing the extra dosh. We may still of course survive, but January was a huge, moronic gamble for relative peanuts. Like gambling your house to win 100 quid.
