  1. Agreed with that part. It would only be in hindsight a disappointment if a win against them doesn't affect our position, but ends up helping the north London bastards win the league. Sounds good to me. A mixture of admiration and jealousy from me, but the jealousy is swamped by not wanting MP and co. winning it. If it was the last game of the season, and the result didn't affect our position, I'd hope that we'd outclass them for 90 minutes, have 3 perfectly good goals disallowed, and they'd win on an atrocious penalty decision. We'd claim the moral victory, and they'd claim the title at Spurs' expense (whose heads would explode at the injustice of it).
  2. Indeed it is. So 7 wins coming up then, it's written in the stars.
  3. True dat. Nightmare scenario: beat Leicester, lose against Spurs, Spurs win the league by a point or two, and we miss out on Europe.
  4. It's a couple of weeks away, but this has been a match of anticipation for a while. They have been unbelievable. If we'd lost today Europe would almost be over, and a loss against Leicester would have a big silver lining of keeping them ahead of Spurs. But with today's epic victory this match is big for both teams. I just hope a win for us doesn't end up meaningless for us at the end of the season, while helping those north London bastards win the league.
  5. That Ranieri chap is doing quite well.
  6. Yes, I'd definitely have Benali at left back. Left back in the changing room (boom! boom!)
  7. Hands up who would take a loss against Leicester and a win against Spurs.
  8. It's not a sitter if you have to beat the goalie. This is a sitter.
  9. No, if Man Utd or Liverpool win Europa and not finish in the top 4, they go into the CL along with the top 4 (i.e. 5 CL spots). But one Europa spot is eliminated to compensate (if they would also qualify for Europa by league). So 8th cannot qualify for Europe. The only way 7th can qualify is if the winner of the FA cup finishes in the top 6.
  10. "Don't think I will be renewing my ST next year as don't want to be associated with the way our fans treat our players at the slightest hint of adversity." If they're still in the 4th division next season, I reckon he won't be the only one. Surely the phew's patience must be running low now. I'm beginning to get worried about their cash flow situation. If they don't go up this season, how will they be able to pay their bills?
  11. Pundits both agree it was a blatant penalty, and never a red card. They also thought Tadic's miss was embarrassing, even if it had been on the training ground.
  12. Yes, but neither were wonderful. But it was a wonder that he scored.
  13. We had the last laugh though, another great escape with them getting relegated and us finishing one place above them. Mind you, they did have a better goal difference.
  14. What wonder goal?
  15. True dat.
  16. “It is harder in this league because you play Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Tuesday, so it has been different to get used to. It is harder for that reason and you need a strong mentality.” Yes, that's certainly a lot harder than playing one day in September, one day in October, one day in November, ....
  17. If Leicester do win it, would it be the greatest achievement in football history? Sporting history maybe? Clough's Forest was amazing, as was Greece winning the European championship, and I'm sure there have been some impressive unexpected league winners around the globe at one time or another. But rock bottom this time last year, one of the favourites to go down at the beginning of this season, Pearson sacked and replaced with a manager who was a disaster with Greece, and 5000-1 to win the league at that time. That's hard to beat.
  18. Reminds me of Glenda's treatment of MLT when England manager, possibly due to MLT rebuffing Glenda's attempt to sign him for Chelsea previously.
  19. Hammers beat Spurs 1-0. Mixed feelings there, as they pull away from us , but they put a dent into the north London yobos' title chances. City getting clobbered by Liverpool, and Stoke win, so we're down to 9th. Arsenal also lose, great night for Leicester.
  20. Good find. I knew a 5th or lower placed winner of the Europa League or CL would give the PL an extra CL place, but now we know it wouldn't help us if we finish 8th!
  21. Runt? I've been called worse. Great thread.
