I think Lawro is stalking me for correct scores. I predicted 2-0 for the Burnley and Hull matches, and the old bastard copied me in both cases then also. If he keeps this up I may have to contact a lawyer.

They will go above them with a draw or a win because the Reds have got their FA Cup semi-final this weekend. Koeman's Southampton side are sixth, five points behind Manchester City I've heard a lot about how Liverpool are the team hoping to nick fourth place if Manchester City's slump continues but Southampton should not be discounted in that race. If Saints can find the sort of form to finish the season they showed at the start of it, then they have got a chance - and it is a massive carrot for them. A win at the Britannia Stadium is never easy but Stoke have a few injury problems to deal with - Victor Moses is their latest player to be sidelined - and I am backing Southampton. Lawro's prediction: 1-2

I'm awfully sad about this. I thought Andy was the right person to take them to a whole new level. Anyway, I have full confidence Champagne and the board will choose an equally capable replacement.

Exactly, we don't want to be a Feyenoord-situation of no-one being keen, or good. It's quite common for strikers to not fancy taking penalties. Ian Rush was one of the best strikers in Europe, but rarely took penalties. On top of that, Pelle's confidence is (was?) shot, so the last thing he needs is missing a penalty, to add fuel to that fire.

That would be cheaper, and they would be playing in a much nicer stadium. But I doubt Bournemouth would allow the Skates to share their ground.

If, and it's a big if, we go to their place on the last day just 2 points behind, we'd have have nothing to lose and they'd be shitting in their pants. I'd fancy our chances in that situation.

Indeed. It's an interesting rewriting of history that an "amazing number of saints fans were happy to see the back of him." I think most of us remember his time here quite fondly, and were confused why he was forced out. He gave us that amazing day out at Wembley, and laid the foundations for NA's success (bringing in good players, most notably SRL).
