  1. Mark Hughes to follow in the coming days that for sure. Faced by our Plymouth meeting with Paul Sturrock and the AGM Lowe will find it nearly impossible to make his move. All we can hope for is a New Year's announcement to the Stock Exchange on investment. Never will Saints be in a better position to sign a decent manager, one who will build on what our Dutch contingent have begun. The Festive season is going to see a real musical chairs but sadly at St Mary's it's only going to be a "Knee's up Mother Wilde" with "Rupert the Red nosed Chairman" screwing her for all she's worth like a "Gay Barby Doll."
  2. SAINTS BLACKEST CHRISTMAS ......... EVER! Even in Premiership relegation season we had a new manager and new hope in Harry Redknapp at Christmastime. Look at the Sunderland, Blackburn and Spurs results to see what a change of manager can do instantly. Lowe wants a young track suit manager and there will be none better than Roy Keane or Paul Ince ever again available. I've supported Jan all the way but today's result (especially as this game was one for the supporters~~~~ Grrrr!!!) means Jan must fall on his sword or Lowe needs to show his skill and shoot him.
  3. Just for once, if the usual unreliable rumour mongerer is correct, maybe Mike Wilde is spending Christmas in Singapore with his wife's family. Not a bad place to be at Christmastime. Or, maybe like some on here he feels he's a jinx when he attends games and has agreed to let Rupert hog the limelight. "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer............... Ho ho ho!"

Hmmm! The Sunday newspapers have said that Chelsea are keen to bring Kevin Davies to Stamford Bridge as a coy for Nicolas Anelka. If any player that left was considered prematurely not good enough it's Davies. Besides, from the 7million he brought to the club financially we could well have held on to him. I can't see the transfer happening, but if it does, some folk on here are going to have yet another feather to bash Lowe's management past with.
  5. BBC 6 o'clock news has just announced that Hampshire County Council joins the 32 Football clubs and been caught up in the Madoff scam and likely to be penniless. This is serious business and one wonders where past Saints directors who intended investing are left. Who finances the County Cricket?
  6. CNN just announced that the latest Madoff financing fraud will leave at least 32 English football clubs penniless. With Pompey already penniless prior to this latest scam where does that leave us? Aren't Saints finances tied up in the Manchester Group Banks and Barcleys? Very grim days ahead. Any ideas on what Lowe can expect to raise by transfers and sales on lunatic fringe supporters? I'm sure the Somalian pirates would glady pressgang them for a quid (or euro) or two.
  7. I state the obvious in that there are years with 365 days and others with 366 i.e. Leap Years. The whole Astrological chart is out by about 11 days from the time in the 1700's when the Calender was changed. Monthly signs are general and known as SUN signs. The character is calculated from the exact time of birth and place of birth and is known as the Ascendant, that is the sign on the horizon at the time of birth. This changes every 2 hours. My own Sun sign is Cancer but my Ascendant is Sagitarius which is influences my character. A full Astroligical chart takes into account each of the Planets and their positions and the angles positive and negative. To calculate your Astrological Chart and to work out your Ascendant check out this site. http://www.urania.ru/english/Chart/index.html Fill in the blanks under the Astrological Chart with the relevant information.

I feel really sad looking at your post. For 40 years the Skates looked backwards and we all mocked them. Now so many Saints supporters are doing just what they did. Let's look to the future and take the lessons we've learned from the past to build a better day. I am one of those after 60 years supporting Saints believes for once we're moving in the right direction. If only the supporters would get their side of the bargain right it will happen sooner than later. There is light at the end of the tunnel and a bright shining future for the club. Forward together and don't be dragged down by looking backwards at what's dead and inexistant.
  9. I wasn't getting at your original post but the pathetic replies that followed. Yet even I am puzzled this morning where he was and why he wasn't on the bench. The fact Jan's used the same team now for several games may have led him to believe he's getting somewhere without the likes of Euell. Some folk are impatient because they want us winning everytime. This season is one of experimentation and blooding the young guys, and as long as we remain out of the bottom three I'm not concerned. 3 good results would put us within the play off places in the same manner that Palace have done. It was a lot to ask of all the players from both teams last night. I feel as far as we are concerned the young guys will have learned an awful lot. Had it not been on TV I don't think they'd have feel so down after the first 2 goals and could have kept their heads and got back into the game. Instead they looked defeated and incapable of a result.
  10. Last night, quote Warnock, we were beaten by ugly football. He chose to play that way as he knew it was the only way to win, and win they did. Many decisions we should have had weren't granted. I can only hope that other clubs will not use Crystal Palace's blueprint as the means to beat our young flyers. I hate televised games as it lets the entire country get to see at close hand our game plan. And seeing we use the same one most games other teams are getting wise. Against teams like Palace with needed the likes of Svensson and Euell who'd have been capable of giving them as much as they gave us. Yet not is all lost and it's games like last night where the lads will have learnt the most.
  11. Yet another pathetic thread. The club has two important games in 2 days so it's highly likely he's been kept ready for tonight's game. When I think of the excuses and stupid selections that Burley would make whilst keeping in mind the next match it beggars belief. Only Strachan plays one game at a time and puts out his best team and then decides after on the team for the next game. Maybe had he taken into action our Cup Final game he might have picked a better team that the one that Arsenal slaughtered one week before the important game. Jan picks his sides with the aim to win, sometimes he gets it right, sometimes, alas, he doesn't

    Rasiak - loan/sale

Seeing he's out injured for the past 2 months not surprising he's not getting a game for Watford. You couldn't make it up some of what gets posted on here.
  15. Seeing that Nigel Pearson's top of the list to succeed Keane, it's going to be nice to see how Manderec fairs in holding onto his manager. What goes around comes around and you reap what you sow eh Manderec?!!
  16. Crouch hasn't been my flavor of the month of quite some time but I do feel that he is justified in replying to the Annual Financial Statement and clarifying where he sees himself in the unfolding events. Each and everyone, Lowe, Wilde and Crouch together with all the standline actors in the pantomine have played a decisive role in our downfall starting from relegation to the events on and off the field that have followed. For me it's Wilde and the Gang of Four Mercenaries that come out of it the worse. I also note and I'm greatly encouraged that Crouch is coming out and telling ALL supporters to get behind the youngsters, that they are playing well and need our backing. It's not Lowe, Wilde and Crouch who have the biggest ego's and driving us into oblivion, but it is the ego's of those who stay away and don't get behind the smashing bunch of lads that "the Club" has assembled together. Unlike past statements by each of the Gang of Three I don't think Crouch's statement is out of place with what he has to say today. "United we stand and divided we bloody well fall, and will fall fast."

    really great news

It is thanks to John that I became a Saints support. Dad and Granddad would go to Pompey in order to see First Division football in the days when many Saints fans supported both clubs. John was an old boy at St Marys and a school hero. Hence I'd insist on going to the Dell whilst the old folks went off to the Rust Bowl. John is, was and always will be my hero as far as football goes, and I can never forget those runs and one two's with Terry. They were so really special. God bless you John, get well soon , and hope you'll be able to make it over to bring that inspiration of yours to the young lads really soon.

  19. Congratulations to Jan and to the players who've done what he's told them despite mixed results. All I'm worried about is Jan being named as Manager of the Month just when we had a big chance of winning games and picking up results. That would be too much to take if he gets the award, although I don't think there's another Championship deserves it more than Jan. To have done what he's done in the face of crisis, no money is some achievement.
  20. Happy Thanksgiving to you too Tim. I am delighted to be able to thank you for keeping us all entertained and for keeping the faith amidst all these weak willed so called supporters. Sadly I can't say that for all those selfish Americans with whom you find yourself. Over the years I have celebrated together with a number of Americans what I find a really interesting and very pertinent festival. But out of sight, out of mind and sadly, in all these years not one of my many American friends or relations ever bothers to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving in return. Of course we all know this is just one of the many hypocrises representative of America and all that country stands for.
  21. It's been the clubs inability to move on where Svensson is concerned that has seen our downfall. Fortunately, this season we don't seen to have put all our eggs in one basket and should Svensson be available it would be an additional bonus. I tend to agree that it's time for him to call it a day rather than him end up a cripple for the remainder of his life. Yet, the guy's got magnificent willpower and somehow he's determined to get one last final crack at the whip. Who knows, he may be studying for his coaching badges whilst unable to play, with long term plans of remaining at St Mary's.
  22. Strachan used to have Friday training sessions at the Stadium. To hell with the groundsmen and winning the best surface in the league competition. Pre match huddles are bad for the taller players who might do their backs in bending over the drafts in the squad. And don't forget the under aged players and older men shouldn't be encouraged in huddles and cuddles. Cerridwen ought to be called in to do her thing in the Boardroom. Plenty of evil spirits lingering there that need chasing away. I heard of one named Rupert that lurks in the tunnel before home games. I thought that rattles were supposed to drive away evil spirits and why previously football supporters used them. Perhaps she might bring along one or two rattle snakes to shake up one or two things.
  23. I bet there are one or two other bits and bobs hanging it there too Jan!!! Keep the faith like you've done all these years. The day the likes of ladysaint abandons ship is the day Saints supporters such really start to get worried. How often did the likes of you and I post that we'd rather see the youngsters battling and losing than putting up with the soul lacking performances by mercenaries and overpaid prima donnas. Finally, in our darkest hour, we're getting what we asked for. It's not been or gonna be easy, but I myself find myself more than proud of the players that are currently pulling on the shirt. It's the very same fighting spirit that has seen Saints beat the unbeatable in the past and I am confident these young guns will take us places. So Jan, let all us old'uns keep the faith and hang in and droop in there together.
  24. Excellently put Tim. It took some time to get shot of all the mercenaries and "couldn't give a damn overpaid players" but we really do have a team of lads we can be proud of, who pick themselves up and go out there and give it their all. So perhaps now by getting rid of the mercenary, weak hearted and unbelieving supporters things we will have gone a full circle since our Dell days. Players who play with pride and supporters who really get behind the team and believe they can conquer the world. That's what Southampton Football Club is all about.
  25. Well we used to have a Floating Bridge so why not a Floating Stadium. It could then be towed up the Solent midway between St Mary's and hell and then beached and access roads built.
