Saints 1-4 Newcastle - Match Thread
spyinthesky replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
As expected bottom three prior to World Cup break enhanced by Null Points from next two games v Newcastle and Liverpool. Only hope we can get our injured players back and sign a decent striker in January. -
Shame we couldnt have played this side in the Hants Cup v Pompey

Most of the people I knew that voted leave were concerned about workers coming in from Poland and elsewhere in Eastern Europe taking jobs in the UK (which in the real world most UK workers weren't interested in) as well as the threat of mass migration from Turkey when their membership was confirmed Leaving the EU has really helped in that regard!!!!!! There were others taken in by the NHS sign on the side of the bus and a few were sympathetic to Boris's claim that EU rules would force us to eat straight bananas.

Southampton Sunak ( 1 ) v Portsmouth Morduant ( 0 )
spyinthesky replied to Charlie Wayman's topic in The Saints
The Guardian will shortly be publishing a story that Ms Morduant is the current squeeze of a certain Mr John Portsmouth FC Westwood and they spend romantic times together at a popular tattoo parlour in Upper Leigh Park. However when it is pointed out Mr JPFCW has been banned (again) from games for publicly urinating outside of the Forest Green Stadium, this may be problematic but, in fact, is probably little different from the behaviour of some Tory MP's, so all OK then. -

How much cash did Ms Morduant say was put into the Portsmouth economy by the previous club known as Portsmouth FC when they went bust for the second or third time in their history|? -

To be fair to Ralph if he has lost the Dressing Room, it hardly shows in recent performances.

Shows what football is all about. We all have differences of opinion. JWP made a couple of poor passes including a poor backheel but otherwise he was all over the pitch as ever and his pass stats were good, in my opinion.

It is a good job there is a month or so to get our injured players recovered during the World Cup fixtures. It is really bad luck that three of our better players have been hit with lengthy injuries rather than 3 of the 'also rans'.

I wonder if anyone on here would like to join up to meet the (in)famous Guided Missile who will, no doubt, be enthusiastically supporting 'An Evening With Nigel Farright' at the Concorde Club on Sunday 6th November where Nige, pint in hand, will be educating the audience with all the Brexit benefits received and projected and his plans to re-invigorate the Reform Party if and when the new Tory leader does not swing significantly to the right as a political doctrine.

I thought KWP picked up a bit of a knock in the West Ham game and this may have resurfaced last night. Hope it is only cramp but unlikely I think

Story in the media today of two Americans having a Road Rage event which ended up with the drivers (both Fathers) shooting at each others vehicles, injuring both shooters young daughters who were sat in the vehicles. Mad!!

I think the Chinese have been buying up all the rare earth and other ingredients that go into chips so they are probably well ahead of the west in being able to develop and produce cutting edge technology going forward. One of the most advanced countries who produce chips is Taiwan, which probably underscores China's ambition is taking over the country.

I wonder what the feedback from Russia would have been if Boris/Liz Truss, aided by her swivel eyed supporters, had decided to invade Ireland on the premise that the inhabitants mainly spoke English and were under English control for centuries until the end of WW1?

I agree. Our back four is decent now but we are getting overrun in midfield with no steel or creativity. JWP is a very decent player but, understandably, is not looking on top of his form recently without decent partners. Romeu form was on the slide but he was better than we have at the moment until such time as a fit Lavia returns. None of the other options are up to the job and I would like to think we had a decent left footed player in midfield or up front. Unfortunately the Armstrongs x 2, Djneppo, Mara, Maitland-Nyles, Diallo, Elyounoussi, and possibly Che Evans too are no more than average players at Premiership level. In fact if we were to take our back four and JWP out of our side, I wonder how the remnants would fare in the Championship?

I think the corporate side is being excluded too. There were originally 47 Corporate boxes at St Marys and they were hired out at around £50k per season with the names of the companies paying for the boxes shown on signs and details published in the programme. There are now around 43 boxes as a couple have been made double sized. However at the end of the Cortese regime prices for boxes and tables in the Lounges had spiralled and now I think there is a mere handful of Boxes sold on a season long basis and the Lounge numbers have decreased too,

I notice that Delap is scoring for fun at Stoke. The young lad Tella at Burnley is one to watch perhaps😍

Suggest playing two goalies and then find they get in each others way. Man City the first side ever to play a rush goalie in the history of English football and Ederson scores three screamers from a header and two free kicks!!

As I am too pissed off to watch MOTD when we lose, was any mention about the foul given against KWP which led to the equalising goal. Myself and those around me thought it should have been a free kick to us and I remember thinking I bet they score from a Refs poor decision, and they did!!

Yup he wasnt in the Reading squad today. On his way £20m

Any one know how Small is doing at Port Vale? Last time I looked he was on the bench.

The majority of people I know who voted for Brexit did it on the assumption that immigration would be banished. That seems to be going well!!!

The so called 'Festival of Brexit' officially known as 'Unboxed' and promoted by the likes of Jacob Rees-Mogg, to 'celebrate' British creativity and our exit from the European Union, had a publicly funded budget of £120m with a budgeted target of 66 million visitors. Last month just 238,000 people (ie 0.4%) were known to have attended since the first events opened in March. Another waste of Tax payers money similar to Boris's bridge over the Thames and the Marble Arch Mound.
