Paris St Germain got a very similar sanction I believe, hasn't stopped them paying 50 million euros for David Luiz though. Can't see the point of these sanction if it doesn't stop them just spending more and more money.

Morgan Called Up for France WC Squad (Official)
Window Cleaner replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
In some ways we are equally as good as Liverpool, we just don't have their strike force and had to use a very, very poor goalkeeper(or goalkeepers) for nigh on a quarter of the season. -
Article isn't quite right though. Leonardo Jardim will be the new manager there, just a question of paying the 3 million € to Sporting portugal. They might well sign Adebayor but they're going to sell Falcao to get their books right for the FFP assessment at the end of next season.

CONFIRMED: Rodriguez ruptures ACL - out for SIX months
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I don't know, Falcao had roughly the same injury at the end of January and he's back with the Columbian squad for the WC. Whether he'll actually play I couldn't say but he thinks he will. -
Still think he'll stay with us myself, provided we get some new players in and don't sell all of the ones we already have. Metro thinks the same apparently, don't know how reliable they are though.
-
Did Les Reed have the power to sack them under Cortese ? Genuine question.

Scientists can prove anything you like provided it gets them a grant for further research. Everything is true when you tend to zero and infinity, squares become circles, parallel lines cross and spheres become tetahedra:rolleyes:.

Normal, neither Rowe nor Hesketh are in the frst team group so no concern of Mauricio's just now.
-
Dropped the bugger didn't he !!

The Standard is full of crap.
-
Not really, he started 4 games and got 4 sub appearances, looking at his stats on whoscored you'd just have to surmise that he was rubbish in all of them. Just cannot see what people see in this player, he had 1 good season and has been milking it ever since. We have the younger brother, if he's any good let's utilise the fellow.
-
Of course, unless he'd really set his stall out for a move to a top 4 club, he's mid-career and in the limelight just now. If we're going to push on so much the better but if we're just going to drift along and be happy with 8th,9th 10 th places he may well not be over content.

I don't think it's about Liverpool meeting our valuation, they think it's too high, it's not their problem if we have to give 25% to Bournemouth. The player is worth about 18/20 million, that's what they'd probably be prepared to pay. If we insist on 25 million they'll just look elsewhere, whether Adam will be happy to stay or not is to be seen. Some really solid performances in the Wc might persuade them to go to a bit more but the lad has to get into the team first.
-
Same old rumour every summer, why can't we just use the Sinclair that we already have.
-
Indeed we seem to be really pushing on now, 3 wins, 3 draws..mostly because of rain. Top of the table although we've played a game more.

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Well I did suggest that the owner has run out of spending money, got heartily slagged off for it though. -
Well I personally think that Mauricio would have achieved his aims. He's got a year left, he doesn't want to be landed with a crap team next season. He's never spoken publicly about Tottenham either way. If he signs a new contract then you have to assume it was better than the old one and he'd had his say on team strengthening.
-
The U18s got knocked out of the FA Youth cup by Charlton, fairly earlier round. Not sure we didn't lose 3-1 at home or similar. Not surprised myself, not a great fan of Dodd, never forgiven him for being so crap when he was co-managing with Gorman. God we were awful.

Jay Rodriguez interview on talkSPORT
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
does his contract not end in June 2016 then ? -
Perhaps Mauricio sees him as I do, great prospect, not the finished article, there's better for less and this way with the swans gents if you please. I'd certainly sell Shaw to fund the project.

Window Cleaner replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Why is Nicola in Milan then, thought he moved back to Ennetbaden. -
OK so let him get on with it and let's get those swans to spend on our team. Totally replaceable as a left back tbh. The board need to man up, admit that he's a gonner, secure all of the rest and buy the 3 or 4 players that we need to really move on to the next level. Just do not see the sense of beating about the bush any more, he's gone OK, move on. Kurzawa or the other Franco Pole from Nice, a striker, a keeper and a CB. Mauricio signs on the dotted line, everybody goes to the WC or on their hols, see you in July.

Depends just how much money the "board" have available to invest. Perhaps it's not a case of will not but can not. -
Jay Rodriguez interview on talkSPORT
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Unsurprising, must really have fancied his chances of making the WC squad, in 4 years who knows, we might well have sunk back into obscurity by then and not be the be all and end all of England team selection. I noticed that Morgan told the french press yesterday that Mauricio has made him a completely different player. -
Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Probably more than one or two actually but as far as I can surmise most of the distinctly antis have had their nose put out of joint by Cortese in some way or other. Obviously a hard man to work for, then again anyone who implemented a strict work ethic might suffer the same reaction in the UK.
