Not exactly the Da Vinchi code chaps.....but hopefully the caffeine will kick in soon.

Cork on his way to Newcastle by the looks of his twitter feed. If he is fit he should at least be on the bench. Bad mistake by NA. We are not keeping the ball well enough and will struggle again in the last 20 mins. I do not have a good feeling for Saturday.

Premier league stats - lambert and morgan stand out for saints!

"we cover more ground than any other team"....chasing the ball because we can't keep possession? -
This is serious. How close could Rickie be to an England call-up ???

I just can't see any of Sturridge,Welbeck, Defoe in the middle of a 451 or 433 formation at this present time. Sturridge ok on the left but greedy and petulant, Welbeck possibly in time when he fills out a bit and learns to play with his back to goal. Defoe is 3 ft 4 and needs to play off a big no.9. So SRL is as good as we have at present and would do a decent job I feel because he can play on the floor and link in as well as hold the ball up/trouble the CBs with his strength and aerial power. As we found on on Sunday when SRL left the field you need player who can hold the ball up and bring other players into the game. -
I think Cortese's hard on may now be subsiding and he can now put his boyhood panini stickers back in the draw.

I spotted someone who looks like me but he's much fatter and balder than I remember.
-
Hopefully we can start to keep the ball and make the other teams run around a bit once Cork is back.
-
We lacked a calm head in the middle to control the game and keep possession in the last 20 minutes or so, hence we lost again. Substituting our three best offensive players on the day wasnt a great idea either as the ball stopped sticking up front at that point.

Straight through the turnstiles - asked to buy some 50/50 thing

....and the odds are 50:50 apparently. -
World Gurning Championship?

Tora, tora, tora .......!

Nicolai Boilesen, a 6 ft 5 left back apparently (...wikipedia). At that size presumably he can play CB as well.

big time charlie on stacks of cash, not that good and aging.

Caulker from Spurs all day long. If they would sell him. -
Spearing is very ugly and very poor.....in that order.

Not with me , but perhaps the uneducated masses. Vital cog is missing................

Cork provided the tempo in midfield last year with lots of quick passes which provided space for our flair players. The sooner we can get him back the better.
-
He's alright I guess but 6 mill really? I would take Burke from B'ham for 3 and spend another 5 on Curtis Davis. Much better business and at least we can all sleep at night knowing that carrot crunching **** at Blackpool made **** all out of it.
-
Very good 17 year old who aquitted himself very well in a huge game. That doesn't make him a premier league player who will run a game at this level. In time I hope yes. But if we are to pick up points we need someone who shows for the ball and keeps it. We looked a man short in that respect on Sunday.

Lack of "real"information re transfers from club!
saintbob40 replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
Play station generation requires instant gratification. Things take time with a number of parties to satisfy (selling club, agent, player, players wife, visas......etc,etc). Compare our business to date(i.e Jay Rod, Davis, Clyne) with other clubs in the league. It is difficult to conclude that the club lacks ambition or that they have sat on their hands for the last few months. Also why would you want to put your competitors on notice of your dealings before they are done? -
Isn't Holloway on a % of transfers at Blackpool which is probably why the news has been leaked by Blackpool as he will be trying to start an auction. So Holloway will have his own agenda in all this which may or may not be helpful....the greedy ****er........
-
Interesting how poor we have been without Cork in the last few weeks.....
-
His first touch is not good enough at PL level although he is good running onto a ball , when he doesn't have to control it and you can't fault his workrate which is impressive.
-
Not sure Cork is on a holiday at the moment. I think playing against the Brazil side he played against the other night and the Senegal and Uruguay sides he will face in a competitive meaningful competition is a much harder pre season. More of a question would be will he know any new systems and formations.

Jack Cork on at half-time for team GB against Brazil.

Let's not forget he was playing well against Brazil. Premiership class............
