People are free to support Murdoch and The Sun, but personally I would decline that offer, especially when all they are trying to do is peddle hate while distracting attention from the jailing of one of their star reporters.

My personal opinion is that an organised whip round in the current dressing room of the club where the guy was a legend, should have produced a significant amount. The club made efforts through allowing collections and several other concessions, but in an era where players are commonly thought of as selfish and money-driven, sadly the amount donated appears to reinforce that feeling, and adds a little more distance between the fans, and players who kiss shirts but care little.

At least Franny got a mention.

To quote The Godfather - Just when I thought I was out of League Two, they pulled me back in...

There must be an easier way to remember the code to the alarm system.

So the treasurer has advised the PDT that it will be time to get the begging bowl out again very soon..... That bodes well.
-
They still believe they own shares in the club?

Don't include relatives...

Debating attendance with some pompey fans is like trying to explain origami to a retarded donkey - you'll regret it! Don't waste your breath, it will just be myth after myth - from the council-owned stadium with free-tickets for asylum seekers, to the tank commander in the SS. Walk away before you get dragged into a wrestling bout with a dirty pig.

It would be harsh to suggest he looks like an unfit Rickie Lambert without the shooting ability or the pace, because he's fairly solid if unspectacular. He did okay last night against limited opposition - the only bloke on the pitch who made any effort to stop him all night was Tadic. Hopefully he'll benefit from a confidence boost and get a few goals. Let's not forget how woeful Pelle and Mane were on occasions - so let's give him time.

European fans looks like fun - that Russian World Cup will be a bundle of laughs. I look forward to FIFA dressing it up as the family game that unites the people of the world.

Liam Lawrence must be seething.

Sounds like another outing for the shroud of Turin.

Fair play to them, they have certainly turned their backs on the Checkatrade trophy. Ticket sales for the Reading U23 home game are hovering around 130 at the moment. Yes, 130. That'll be a decent boycott if they can keep that number down. Possibly the most decentest.

It doesn't matter what Jose did or didn't do, the game should have been stopped twice before that ball even came back into the box. The ref got it wrong - at least twice in that passage of play, probably three times.
-
You want to run away to pompey and get married?
-
While they are likely to be hovering around joint top for the season, I reckon they still have that self-destruct button that can derail the simplest of promotion campaigns. It'll be interesting to see if they can go a few matches without a hiccup.

You have to respect pompey for making a stand on the import of foreign players, it comes on the back of their brave stance to only play English players when they were in the Premier League. Perhaps had they stuck to only accepting English money as well they would.....well, they'd be a small note in a history book.

Forget the holidaymakers - I suspect most of the traffic congestion in that quarter of the country will be down to the mighty blue army making its plucky way to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Cook's battling troops as they proudly battle their way back through the divisions, one little rip at a time.
-
Koeman's pursuit of Martina says more about the state of the Everton squad than anything else. I wish him well, great goal etc - but let's not pretend we were building our defence around him.

I'm starting to build a profile of man on the street and it doesn't look good...

New role at Portsmouth for ex-Cheltenham Town boss Mark Yates has been doing some scouting for League Two Portsmouth while he waits for an opportunity to return to management.... Interesting.....this can't be forward planning surely?
-
The promotion charge is up and running - if the division was laid on its side they'd be joint top! (Cook keeps his job for another three weeks)
-
They haven't, it's still 1950 down there.

Referring to his players, their manager is unwavering in his belief they are of the calibre to guide the club out of League Two... The current table supports his theory. Looks like we are revisiting the old problem of we want to continue to pretend that we own the club but we want other people to finance it. Listen up everyone, this might be news to some - YOUR FAN-OWNED BUSINESS MODEL IS FLAWED!
