  1. A real shame cause Cardiff sounded sh!t too. Consensus on Twitter seems to be Harding back in soon, Fox poor defensively. As long as we keep it up at home. Players tired? Back to Hammond-Cork midfield again. Didn't think we'd need a striker but we desperately need some pace up top and something different to cause defenders problems, especially when like in the past two games, we've been poor in possession. A lot of work to do on the training ground before Watford....another bogey team!
  2. Guly can't play in away games it seems.
  3. Not the type of striker we're looking for IMO. We need someone with pace. Thanks for the memories Beatts, but no thanks.
  4. Best goal scored: Lallana v Leeds. Best Champagne moment: Lallana's double nutmeg/skill v Birmingham. Best game so far: (Best contest) 3-2 v Forest. Best player at this stage: Lambert so far. Fantastic. Most Improved player: Hammond.
  5. Aldershot away or anybody that's not boring at home. And when I say boring, I mean any of the Championship sides really.
  6. Adkins currently has the best win ratio of any Saints manager EVER. Best start to the season for 103 years. We're pretty damn good etc etc.
  7. What he's done in the past to some individuals is horrific but I have time for him on the pitch, great player and great commitment. A very, very good signing for QPR.
  8. Some people don't half like to moan don't they!
  9. It's lazy journalism AGAIN from TalkSport. They've realised that Pardew used to manage us and that they need a striker. Cortese won't sell him and after signing a new deal recently, Premier League interest or not, I'm sure he wouldn't be desperate to leave. At least I hope so anyway.
  10. 1) Pompey 2) Reading 3) Brighton. Desperate to get wins from those, the rest we'll take care of.
  11. Spoke to him at my college, where he does some coaching and advising, back in March I think, and he said he's a youth team coach and helps out Doddsy with the under 18's. Really nice bloke. I had nothing to do with the sports bit but I had a Saints jacket on so he was happy to talk. Said Cortese doesn't deserve the stick he gets either as he was very kind to Murts in offering him to stay on after his injuries. Despite loving it at Saints, he said Reading will always be his team which is fair enough.
  12. I remember saying Adkins was tactically inept after the Walsall 1-0 defeat
  13. Pompey in the play-offs? LOL.
  14. Hammond has been better full stop since Adkins came in. Guly in the first half yesterday was a joy to watch.
  15. He blames other influences like the referee or his lack of finances, the first often, EVERY time they lose. It's pathetic. They had the same discipline problem last season but of course that's all down to the refs who have some agenda against Pompey players. Lawrence deserved to be sent off yesterday, both stupid bookings.
  16. A bit off the pace but Miller and Derbyshire were such handfuls. Don't really get people calling him shocking, Jose just as fault for goals as Jos, straight through the defence. Fox was very poor, minus the cross for Lambert's 3rd - hopefully Harding is back for B'ham. Cork at RB didn't really work so would like to see him back in CM next week, but I know that the changes were enforced.
  17. Probably because we have nobody called 'Connelly' playing for us, it's 'Connolly' Shorter odds the real goal machine 'Connolly' probably
  18. Ding Ding Ding. What about.... 01 Davis 02 Harding 03 Thomas 15 Lancashire (Rasiak 90+2) 23 James 10 Wotton (Gobern 81) 19 Schneiderlin 35 Mellis 07 Lambert 17 Paterson (Saganowski 81) 20 Lallana ? The bottom 3 at the time were: 22 Norwich 23 Brighton 24 Southampton. How times change.
  19. Niemi, Telfer, Lundekvam, Davenport, Higginbotham, Nilsson (Jones 64), Prutton, Oakley (Jakobsson 73), Delap, Anders Svensson, Crouch.
  20. I know you're just being a WUM but who are the 16 teams who'll finish above us then?
  21. It'll be Hooiveld I should imagine. Not that I have a problem with Martin but we need someone who is comfortable on the left side of CB.
  22. He's still around? Blimey, I thought he was a dinosaur when with us! Not being kept on by the cheats says it all, no thanks.
  23. The look on his face when he found out would have been f*cking hilarious. I do want rid of him, mind.
  24. Back. Fairly comfortable until we started to overplay it. Short goal kicks EVERY time had us under pressure but to be fair to Bart, he made a good save at his near post from Clarke to make it 2-2. Lallana was great, probably MOTM. Complete justice we got the 3rd goal as we had a blatant penalty turned down on a trip on Lallana with about 2/3 minutes to go when the awful ref was right by the incident. Plus the fact Swindon's attacker Kerrouche(?) should have been sent off right on half time. He got one booking for throwing the ball away(which the ref was very anal over) and he then consequently got angry about it and proceeded to hack down Cork and the refs solution was to blow for HT. Handbags from the 2 benches followed. Di Canio has always been a knob but he demonstrated it further tonight. Not just for the incident with Clarke either, but his petty throwing of his arms and moaning on the touchline - once confronted by Adkins. We made it more difficult than needed to at times but thankfully got the deserved 3rd goal from the very sharp and surprisingly quick Lambert. Bring on Preston/Charlton.
