Yesterday our former right back Jesus turned 38. After retiring from football he has become a model. Dutch football website Voetbalzone has slideshow of photos (from photo nr 5 you can see how jesus looks nowadays). http://www.voetbalzone.nl/inbeeld.asp?uid=292816

Dutch and Italian media reporting De Boer could be on his way out after a string of poor results. Its likely Inter have a caretaker or new manager this Thursday (possible new manager syndrom alert).

Now have injuries s our lack of depth starting to show?
Dr. Kucho replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
I think we are doing well on the pitch, losing to Chelsea is no shame, they were very strong yesterday. What does concern me is the amount of injuries we have had so far, McCarthy, Targett, Bertrand and Long all have had hamstring injuries this season. In most cases hamstring injuries are down to weak lower back muscles, glutes and hamstrings. The chance of getting these muscle related injuries can be minimalised with good strength and conditioning, good nutrition and enough recovery time. With the fixture conjestion we have, recovery training (think of myofascial release, low inpact strength training and massaging) and nutrition must be at its best. -
Lawro has us to lose 0-2. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37781121 Would take a draw against Chelsea, some tough games coming up.

Who remembers this Saint Scooby (or Scooby Saint) who kept trolling about how great Lowe was and said he lived in the States. Turned out to be some local film producer or something along that line.

Boufal you idiot, save that for league games! Amazing goal and what a first touch..

This, employ a team of strength coaches, physical therapists, nutritionists and massage practitioners. 1 expert for every 5 players (groups selected on bodytype and biomechanical profiles). Watch the amount of injuries go down and the players get fitter and stronger.

Think Fonte should be given the opportunity to captain the team away at the San Siro, he has been with us for so long. Forster Martina - yoshida- Fonte- McQueen Romeu Davis - Hoijbjerg Tadic Redmond - Jrod Austin and VvD to be rested and on the bench
-
Phillips scored away at city from a Delap long throw, think it was Beattie that headed it on to Phillips.
-
Great memories! Talking of great moments, Anders Svensson running the length of the pitch to score against Tottenham in the fa cup.

I was told for a fact that Pompey was (and still is) the first club where the majority of season tickets holders dont have any teeth, and share the same DNA.
-
This, people underestimate the importance of recovery, especially for top athletes over 30. Reckon we will play are strongest team at the San Siro, all the players would want to play that game.
-
If Black gets the sack, the club should promote Jaidi to assistent manager. Speaks French and if there was any bother around the touchline with the opposing team, its good to have Radhi around
-
Would like to have seen Martina and Hojbjerg start. However you don't know how the feel after Thursday. Austin did a great job against Prague, but the fact he was knackerd after 40 min is worrying. Can anyone who attended Thursday say if there are improvements in play and if the formation is working better?

Dutch and Italian media reporting Pelle is regretting his move to China. Apparently his girlfriend (Viktoria Varga) is unsettled and Pelle isnt enjoying the quality of football in China. Should we try a loan bid in January? Source: http://www.voetbalzone.nl/doc.asp?uid=288638 (in Dutch).

Is Boufal fit enough to play? Thought he was injured.
-
Was hoping to see another player coming in, however I do think we have a squad that should finish in the top 8-10. Forster Cedric - Van Dijk - Fonte - Bertrand Hojbjerg - Romeu/Reed Redmond - Boufal - Tadic Long/Austin/Rodriguez A very decent squad that has played together for some time. Just ditch the diamond, or make it work very soon.

Anyone attend the match or watch it? How did the youngsters get on? -
Rodriguez was in amazing form in the months up to his injury. If he hadnt had that injury I reckon he would be one of the top strikers in the league.
-
Thanks for the article. It states that in the French league they have started changing from 4-2-3-1 to the diamond formation and that other leagues could follow. Could it be that the club expect the PL to shift to the diamond formation and want to be the first to master it? Have to say I prefer the 4-2-3-1 formation as it allows to play more attacking players and protects the defence.
-
Insigne is 5ft4. Would that work in PL? And we do seem a little short up front with Long and Redmond both under 6ft.
-
All I seem to read on here is how the diamond formation doesnt seem to work with the players we have. Sadly I dont get to see many Saints games due to living abroad. So could someone explain the new formation and what the tactic seems to be? I understand how we line up and that we try to keep the ball and play it forward. However what is expected from the players when we attack (who does what to set up the goal) and what would be the best diamond formation line up if we had kept all the players since we got promoted?
-
Head says: 3-1 to Manure. Long to score first, Utd to dominate the half but not score. Second half 70th minute they score and we sadly collapse. Heart says: Saints 1-0, Redmond with the goal. Line up I expect to see: Forster Cedric - Fonte - Van Dijk - Targett Romeu Hoijbjerg - Tadic Davis Redmond - Long Hope to see this line up: Forster Cedric - Fonte - Van Dijk - Targett Romeu - Hoijbjerg Davis - Redmond - Tadic Long

Believe it was last week, didnt take to much notice of it. Says we had a offer of 15m euro turned down.
