As Ralph has put himself out there and announced he would be joining Franny for part of the run today I would like to think that when he runs into St. Mary's at half time he is greeted with a sizeable cheque from the club. They arent just going to have that announcer guy shake his hand and say "well done Franny, how do you feel?" surely ?

Despite some pretty rocky times, especially in July, you have to hand it to the club and say they have delivered by the cut off date of 1 September. I admit to doubting them on several occasions but they have invested the money that has come in whilst still leaving themselves some in reserve should a January signing or two be needed. Its always a gamble when signing a new player as to how they will adapt to The Premership so I hope for all our sakes the promise these new players have will bring the results we want. If they dont then you can hardly blame the board or manager, nobody has a crystal ball. But the lack of ambition so many accused the club of and that many of us questioned at times has been well and truly answered. Onwards and upwards ! COYR's

Of course Richards isnt on our radar, thats what makes no sense to me. City wont let him go to one of their rivals presumably. We finished 8th last year so we should be one of the teams in poll position to get him IF he wants to play in the Premiership. He is a fine player, would suit the way RK wants to play, ticks all the boxes about young players etc etc, The Soutampton Way, and all that stuff. Wages ? Well we have shipped out some of our top earners, we still have over 40 mil profit after the buying/selling so show some bloody ambition and get a player like Richards in !

You have missed the point a bit havent you ? The club, Les Reed then, keep banging on about how thoroughly they look at players, they look to see if their temprement is right, if they will fit in, all the stuff that surrounds a player, not just what he can do on the pitch BEFORE they sign that player. So we hear all that, we get someone in, wonderful group of lads speech blah blah blah and then 3 weeks later one of these top researched players is off because he doesnt fit in with the others ad he cant hack the training. Now you tell me how this wonderful research the club supposedly do fits in with that situation then ? And you can add Osvaldo and the disaster he was to that too cos its the same situation, didnt fit in, ended up headbutting a senior player, as you do !!
