Does the premier league actually have a formula for calling a game off? Can they independently validate any tests. This potentially undermines the competition's integrity. Of course if the situation was reversed I would be willing on a cancellation but that does not mean that is right.

It was very harsh. It was also deep in their half. Referees get an adrenaline buzz from sending people off. The trouble with VAR is that when the fouth official says they think the ref should re look at it the assumption is that they think they should be sent off.

I would be more optimistic this season. The defence is better and the Ings sale now looks like a very good bit of business. 14/1 does though offer some value when we have a bad run of fixtures.

JWP is one of those players you want about the club. What he offers in terms of continuity and culture around the team should not be underestimated. Morgan and Victor both left in a strop and did damage to morale in the process. On the pitch, 8 goals last season, which of our strikers are people expecting to score more? On set pieces he is top 5 in the league. Yes you can be critical, a little sluggish and a bit sideways but a vital part of the team. Most of all I want to like the players that represent our city and he fits the bill. Thank you Prowsey and like nta 786 I hope I get to go to his testimonial.

I am a realist Lord D - if we have a striker who scores twenty goals a season he leaves for a bigger club. What we want is strikers who score 12-14 goals and we have a chance of keeping them. In strikers terms Prowsey is a 12-14 goals player and better still he came up through the youth system and is a club loyalist. Who are you going to bring in another Lemina?

When a new signing walks into our dressing room Ward Prowse is somebody who lets them know why it is an honour and a privilege to put our shirt on. He understands the culture of our club. He is 'our level' plus and his contribution around the club makes him invaluable to us. He is somebody you want about the club. What price do you put on that? I had hoped Danny Ings would also be in that mold but sadly not and I am convinced our run of bad form was down to his lack of commitment behind the scenes changing the momentum of the team after Christmas. I don't begrudge him that, it is football but I salute Ward Prowse for his commitment.
