  1. Fair enough. But as the purpose of security is to give the lender something to recover against in the event of a default, it would seem logical for that security to be against something which post-dates the expected loan term? Instead of the word 'proof', would you accept 'very strong indication'?
  2. As far as I can tell, no that's not what we're doing. When you get promoted you get a lot of money. However you don't get a lump-sum cheque on the day the fixture list comes out, it gets drip fed over time. However, in part due to the transfer window, you may need to spend cash before you've been paid it. A loan would help in this situation. We've secured the loan against next years money, that's not the same as paying it back out of next years money. My mortgage is secured against my house, doesn't mean I intend to sell my house to repay the mortgage. As I've said before, the loan being secured against future revenue is actually proof that the intention is to pay it back before then. What use to a bank is security if by the time they'd be forced to call it in you'd have already spent it?
  3. One thing I found interesting when they were talking about this on 5Live this morning. They seemed to be saying he used the N word, and that if it's true that should be the end of his career. So it's a 4 game ban for a player and a lifetime ban for a ref?
  4. Jimmy Savile necrophilia stories have been going round for years. He allegedly used to be left alone in the morgue at one of the hospitals he was associated with.
  5. I don't think we've had any problems gelling. We've been playing good football most of the time. The majority of the goals we've conceded have been due to individual errors, largely from players who've been here a while.
  6. 3. Stick with Adkins, don't go down, get stronger next year. We aren't even in the relegation zone FFS, having played nearly all the top teams already.
  7. Because the point of security is to give the lender certainty that they'll get their money if we don't make the repayments. You couldn't secure it against this season's payments, as by the time we defaulted we'd have already spent them. So in fact, I'd say the fact that it is secured against next season's payments is actually a very good indicator that the plan is to pay it off before then.
  8. Apart from it being the first programme mentioned in the first post?
  9. Doesn't that rule say you can't more it more than eight times anyway, not that it has to be worn a minimum of eight times? And are their specific rules concerning short and sock clashes, or is it just up to the ref? I can just about buy that two teams wearing the same colour socks could be issue, but am struggling to think of an instance where clashing shorts could cause any confusion.
  10. Yeah saw it on twitter yesterday. Congtats Adam.
  11. Whatever anyone says, something has obviously happened over the past few years to put people off going to cup games. We used to buck the trend of declining attendances, especially in the league cup. I remember many a thread showing how we had far better attendances than a lot of other 'big' clubs, and mocking the sub-10k crowds the likes of Bolton and Blackburn were getting. Personally, despite having a season ticket, I very rarely go to cup matches these days. If we get a good draw in the next round I might go, but then again I might not. In my view, the decline in cup gates coincided with us starting to play weakened teams. We didn't used to do this, in fact I'd probably trace it back to Redknapp who started to devalue the cups for Saints
  12. Where's the best place to see these pictures then?
  13. Looking around the stadium on matchday, we seem to have sold loads. So someone must like it.
  14. Think he played centre mid for them at the weekend.
  15. Another two words - Paul Scholes
  16. If only you had the sash kit
  17. We have to register our 25 man squad list with the League a the close of the window, so if he doesn't sign today he won't be on that list. Therefore we could sign him after today but we won't be able to play him.
  18. Interesting speech here which talks about the Apple hypocrisy mentioned above: http://www.ted.com/talks/kirby_ferguson_embrace_the_remix.html
  19. I'd actually say that's quite fair. If they've said tickets go on sale at 9, you shouldn't have to be logging on at stupid o'clock in the morning to get in the queue. It's not really any different to other systems which wouldn't actually let you log on until 9, except this way manages the load on their servers so that they don't lock up when everyone tries to go through the logon procedure at the same time.
  20. I stuck Billy Sharp in mine. Cheap and I reckon he'll come off the bench to score a few late goals.
  21. I loved Appys quotes in The News last night. On the one hand saying how proud he was of the kids who played at Plymouth, but in the next breath stating that by Saturday he hoped to have signed enough players better than them that one or two might make the bench if they were lucky.
  22. I've still got a mug with it on.
  23. Surely there are lots of things that children are told they aren't allowed to do but adults can? Drinking, smoking, ironing, opening the front door, mowing the lawn, etc. I don't see why a child would see it as such a contradiction when seen alongside a lot of other rules they are taught to adhere to but adults partake in. Oh yeah, my kids aren't allowed to **** the babysitter either.
  24. What about shouting at children? Do people see that as wrong? In my experience kids find being shouted at pretty scary, probably more so than a smack on the bum.
  25. It's a brand new event, the record will go pretty much every time they race.
