  1. May also indicate why Redknapp didn't fit in here. Think about it, if you are incentivised on a percentage of net profit made on the difference between the price paid for a player and the price he's sold for, it's in your interest to turn your squad over on a regular basis. It's most definitely not in your interest to bring youth players through the ranks (Lowe's approach), as they wouldn't be included in your bonus scheme.....
  2. May have been mentioned already, but this is our first Saturday 3pm game at home since November 19th (3-0 win against Brighton). I honestly don't think all the early/late kick offs since then have helped us. I know personally I always feel a bit detached at lunchtime and teatime matches, and I'd say that the atmosphere tends to be worse. Starting Saturday we have a run of games at 'traditional' kick off times, hopefully this will coincide with us coming back into form.
  3. Same for me, although with 13th January. Not really expecting that to change for a few weeks yet, seems to take a couple of months to get a replacement.
  4. Holmes more likely. Adkins had already said that Holmes was likely to go somewhere this month. SDR adds far more than Holmes.
  5. The Chapel is the family section?
  6. This may be a whoosh moment by me, but that article is from the last winding up petition, not this one.
  7. I can't see that Pompey would ever be able to play at Moneyfields. Even if they were to restart in non-league, AFC Pompey would attract a couple of thousand fans and the Moneyfields site is too constrained to ever cope with that amount of people. They'd have to play at H&W or maybe Fareham.
  8. If he's not emaciated when he gets here I'll be thoroughly peed off. How dare he eat?
  9. I wonder who the former creditor is that we'll have to pay up to £4m to if we get promoted before 2015/16? Aviva?
  10. Maybe they should consider the fact that, having outscored Andy Carroll, Celtic 'only' paid £2.4m to sign Hooper....
  11. I wouldn't take anything from that story on the Celtic site. He's hardly likely to say he hates it there and can't wait to leave is he?
  12. That's a story from October 2010?
  13. Can't believe Blackpool are so poor in the transfer market. Don't they know that if you want to sign a player you have to just get on with it and pay whatever amount the selling club ask for? They should have stumped up the £1m on January 1st, none of this fannying around.
  14. I wondered about Robbie Slater, another Australian, but it turns out he was born in Ormskirk, Lancashire.......
  15. I'd imagine you'd actually get far more manslaughter convictions instead of murder, as people would be less inclined to convict for murder if they knew the defendant would die.
  16. Is it? I didn't think we were ever part of the Mali group.
  17. Only our fans would turn their noses up at a French international defender who has won league titles in France, the cup in Spain, and played 50 times in European competition........
  18. Although to be fair, no other player in our team would even have got into the position to mess it up. Also several other players had good chances in that game and should have scored, his was just more noticeable. Similarly last weekend, Morgan should have scored yet it's hardly been mentioned. Our fans seem to scapegoat certain players while others get cut some slack. Lallana misses loads of good chances, yet no-one ever gives him any stick.
  19. Lol that's where I take my kids. One of them had his hair cut there yesterday actually. My last cut was in the Green Room in Albert Road, think it's about £15 including a wash and a head/neck/shoulder massage.
  20. Cameron actually pointed that out to Miliband on Monday. The policies Labour have been advocating to deal with the economic crisis would effectively be outlawed if we had signed up. The conservative governments in Germany and France have cleverly pushed the leftist parties out into the cold. Will be interesting to see what happens if Sarkozy were to lose the French presidential election next year. Would a left-leaning president try to wriggle out of this accord?
  21. Interesting that the place is still half empty, even for a big debate like this. Where the hell are all our MP's?
  22. Far from it. Our pitch is pretty poor this season. It may look nice, but it's not knitted together at all and cuts up really badly.
  23. Have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with the headliners for 2012. Other are ecstatic though. Tom Petty Friday, Pearl Jam Saturday, Bruce Springsteen Sunday. It'll be like going back in time 20 years. I'd have been happy to see one of those 3 as a Sunday headliner, but to have no contemporary headliner is pretty poor in my eyes. Still, it'll save my wife and I about £600 by not going, so every cloud......
