Lol It's a good move for Reed he needs some consistent game time, hopefully he can recapture what ever it was he had when he first broke onto the scene.
-
That is one of the weirdest things I've ever read!
-
Both City and Chelsea seem incapable of turning great youth prospects into quality end product!
-
Don't see the problem as long as the buy back fee is set sufficiently high!
-
Personally I don't really care if he goes to Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City or Barcelona I would however expect Liverpool to be paying a premium for being such class less muppets. He's going to leave at some point and the clubs simple goal at that time should be to maximise the return on the investment don't forget Celtic cut a substantial cut of the fee so maybe we should suggest to Liverpool that the price is 50 million to us and they settle what ever is owing to Celtic?
-
Looks o me like a mutual decision, suspect he wants more first team footy than we can offer. Good luck to the lad.

Random aside but anyone know why I can't get name and. Umber printing online for the 2026/17 shirts that are going for £15

They will do it just takes more time and Money as Spurs are a more attractive better paying option than saints this allows them to keep hold of a better standard of player than us ie Wanyama and alderwiereld, if spurs were a top ten club rather than a top four do you really think Kane and Alli would still be there? Both of whom will leave at some point for more money at a bigger club it's just a matter of time spurs will loose less players than us but they will never hold onto the really top draw ones like Bale as the bigger fish will chomp them u[.

Sums it up for me, our league form has been garbage hidden by a weird season in which 46 points makes us the best of the rest and our exit from the Europa league when we got to a point where getting out of the group looked a fore gone conclusion was massively disappointing. The league cup run really was the only highlight and credit to Puel for sticking out decent sides and out foxing Liverpool brilliantly but it's not enough to make up for the brand of football we currently play.
-
Redmond finishes top league goal scorer with 7, people aid we wouldn't miss Pele but we clearly did. No idea how we've finished 8th anyone know how many points are normally needed for a top ten finishes as it feels pretty low this season the mid table is massively compacted. I'd sack the manager as the way we play is dull dull dull.
-
depends how much he is on here and if Puel's next club can get close!
-
Chambers wanted to go and looking where he is now we got an excellent deal I don't think Arsenal would get there money back if they tried to flog him this summer!
-
we should go back to playing 4-2-3-1 with a fast pace pasing game which is what the squad was setup to do, why we let mr bore them to death have the job and change th system used throughout the club i don'e know!
-
It seems almost inevitable that they will sell, will be interesting to see the divide in the fan base particularly if the mickey mouse club doesn't work out and the club needs to be rescued again. If I was a pompey fan I'd be voting against this chap doesn't seem to have the financial muscle and commitment necessary to bail them out of the mess they are in so will almost certainly leave them high and dry in a couple of years.
-
Still think he shouldn't even be on the bench at the minute he is clearly not seen as a long term option I'd much rather see an academy lad on the bench just in case we need a defender in these nothing games.
-
Without the cross club analysis it lacks any real meaning or context ie are we any better than average or is the quality of the academy a myth supported by a couple of excellent graduates?
-
Love all the talk of swap deals, how often to these ever actually happen? If VVD goes this summer it will be for a shed load of cash and we will then take a couple of punts on up and coming players from abroad.
-
Love how the article lists him as former Everton and Southampton striker I'd say he is probably better remembered as the former Southampton and Sheffield Utd striker but obviously the mail couldn't let the 'big club' reference down lol
-
aren't they always massive for us now! I'd love a nice quiet summer without the comings and goings and endless melt downs on here a nice summer of silly rumours like when we were going to sign beirhoff would do me fine.
-
I think his future will be decided in the next month or so if he plays and plays well we will almost certainly offer him a longer contract that hopefully he will accept.
-
If he's not already been booked it would certainly have been a card I don't think many referees who realised a player was on a booking would produce the card in these circumstances as it makes them look totally stupid!
-
in my memory it's Pahars but Brouc and Manollo are also great shouts for the instant impact on team fortunes.
-
I don't think we can really comment after the appalling way we sacked a manager after back to back promotions and we weren't about to be relegated!
-
There wood have to be a break clause for players that didn't make it so they weren't stuck for 2-3 years because they played 5 minutes in a league cup game and that would just be abused you can't trap a player they stay when they want to and go when they want to. Shaw should just be used of an example to them during contract discussions that a big money move doesn't guarantee playing success!
