Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

No country or peoples are safe from these heinious acts that are being unleashed across the globe. We no longer live in the day when these things happened to others, or, in distant lands. After the Charlie Hebdo slaughter, few would have believed what is taking place in the heart of Paris, let alone the scale and number of dead.

Insane.

As said on another thread, looks like the work of Islamic nutters. Let's see if that bears out.

However, the free movement across Europe and the shepherding of people from the Middle East to Europe will mean this will happen again in the heart of Western Europe.

Germany is the ticking time bomb.

Safe to say it will bear out. How they can do such things in name of god whilst executing teenagers begging for their lives is beyond me.

What makes someone want be part of such hate filled doctrine that they actually believe their god welcomes. So fcked up.

They're usually off their nuts on coke and steroids when carrying out attacks.

It's OK. Some have told us all we need to do is talk to them and it will all be fine.

That would be Hollande and his government then. We've been asking for it anyway, poor government and a justice minister who wants no-one whatsover in prison. To her criminals are victims, always victims, because they're poor, stupid, uneducated or black or gray or whatever.

Just proves that simply talking to these people is an idiotic plan. They don't negotiate.

without being premature, the UK Govt does a pretty decent job in looking after us. Which is sure is a massively thankless and incredibly difficult task.

I believe history will judge the start of the 21st century (in europe) as bizarre and quite frankly, deluded.

Can't begin to imagine the grief and suffering of those involved so initial thoughts are with them and their families.

Sad thing is that although this is shocking and terrifying, it is no great surprise that another event like this has happened. It was always a case of "when and where" rather than "if".

Yes, because you lock up the odd troublemaker. Take this example. A couple of weeks back a bunch of travellers who live entirely off the state and crime, smashed up a small town simply because one of theirs was not let out of prison for the funeral of another one of them who died joyriding a stolen car. From this incident no-one has been arrested, no-one charged.

They say they'll get round to bit one day but they won't. We are governed by a bunch of vote seeking farkwits who just don't understand why the FN are running at over 30% in the polls.

Politicians across Europe have made last nights events possible by allowing the mass migration of people whose culture is completely at odds with the West.

Meanwhile Merkel and her cosy gang of liberal minded types allow wave after wave to enter mainland Europe.

Parts of the EU are just bizarre. What the Germans are doing is very worrying. you have Sweden where the political powers have made it a crime to criticise their nations immigration laws, WTF!!!. the open border thing is just plain weird. let alone us nipping over the to the southern med and providing a ferry service to bring these people to our continent.

Back to Germany, that country is going to tear europe open AGAIN. One way or another.

Merkel standing up and stating that everyone can come, Germany is the home of Islam and dictating the policies of the wider EU.

Her response to the incredible immigrant issue in the med is to try and get EU nations to 'manage' it better.....just **** off

thankfully, we are not so tied in to that at the mo

That's what coke, war and sociopathic brainwashing does.

I suspect their goal is to recreate the Syrian civil war in the west, the world is a global village.

My money is on an IS-linked splinter cell, carried out by French nationals.

there are serious issues at play in sweden with regards to immigration but we simply dont (or cant) hear about it

And then there's Norway-No Way.....might be a hashtag or something. We have no place for 2 million refugees and yet they keep coming.

You'll have to do better than that. If that's the standards of journalism we're dealing with....

I've searched 'law criticism immigration sweden' - that was the top search that came up. Nothing in it links to ANY parliamentary documentation suggesting this law was passed. The rest of the links on that page are ****e too - half of them reference the article you posted.

Genuinely, if that law has been passed then it's an interesting one but nothing in that link suggests any other than the usual sensationalist fart with no ****.

France has the largest settled Muslim population in Europe, and has also contributed the most fighters to IS, all before the current refugee crisis began. So your argument that this was made possible by the refugee crisis is flawed. It was already possible, even likely.

Very sad events.

Well the first thing to say is that this series of murderous attacks in Paris is an appalling atrocity of course. I suppose those fanatics responsible would have said that appalling atrocities happen every day in Syria and Iraq and we are responsible for that. For what it is worth, I think they hate us more because of what we are, rather than what we do.

From a selfish British perspective, what is to stop a similiar crime occurring here? The answer to the question is both terrible and clear enough I think - i.e. next to nothing. In the face of such a 'clear and present' danger I wonder how much longer can the cherished British tradition of a (mostly) unarmed police force be maintained? Do we change policy now, or wait until a 100 people lay dead on the streets of London first? History shows us that our police were routinely armed back during World War II and some might argue that something akin to a state of war now exists between the west and fundamentalist Islam.

Even if we did arm all our police then the problem would hardly be adaquatly addressed because the French police are armed now and that obviously did not stop what happened in Paris yesterday. In the short term we might look towards a greater Army presence on our streets - but our army has been so reduced now that this may not be a practicable suggestion. Perhaps we should establish regional air mobile counter-terrorist teams that are ready to respond rapidly 24/7 to any incident here - remember that terror can strike anywhere not just in our capitol.

If this awful situation carries on then the day may soon come when we need to regain full control of our borders from the EU once again. We may well need to reverse the recent cutbacks in the size of the army, police and customs force too. However, there is only so much that can be done and the brutal truth is we live in dangerous times and we'll just have to get used to it.

Vive la france

which has absolutely nothing to do with what happened last night, get a bit more clued up please.

how do you know what is or isnt to do with last night?

Do you think these terrorists were protesting against the refugees?

The 'migration' itself is not the cause. It has been reported that one of the terrorist said 'this is due to the French involvement in Syria', or words to that effect.

So the cause appears to be a fundamentalist grudge against French military action.

I believe that the constant influx if Muslims into western europe will spread extremism. And more of these tragedies will happen. More so with the bizarre open border policy we have

That's fine and I'm not necessarily (fully) disagreeing. Just saying that to lay the blame for last nights atrocities at the feet of the refugees/migrants is equivalent to saying the nazi party rose to prominence due to the large population of Jews in Europe.

How else did last night's events happen. You let millions of Islamic migrants into your country, the chances of an Islamic attack are much more likely.

Thing is we already have thousands of islamic militants in France, we do not need migrants to make any terrorist activity happen. When I came here 30 years ago we had plenty of Muslims, they didn't cause any trouble or make themselves very obvious, all pretty regular people.. Now when you go to the shops you have stacks of veiled women with 15 kids each, the problem is coming from within not without because we have no work for this population, nor do many of them seek it and the society is festering .

But these people have arrived in France as a result of migration from Islamic countries. Be it this year, 5 years ago, 20 years ago, if you allow millions of Islamic migrants into a country, they create their own communities, and this behaviour is the output from these communities.

You are no doubt right but it has gotten much worse these last 10 years or so yet those in power just don't seem to see it.

A particular problem seems to be the number of young people of non-Islamic African descent turning to Islam because they seem to think that it will in some way relieve the squalid conditions in which they seem to immerse themselves. We are overun, you need to see it every day to see that the situation is worsening constantly.
