Nicola Cortese Interview - Solent

I like that :) , good interview and how refreshing it is to hear a club official engage in unambiguous straight talk without resort to feuding with old enemies or telling us the clubs future rests on some Merchant Bankers say so .

I judge people on what they do rather than on what they say but for now at least I see no good reason to doubt Nicola Cortese's word , for that matter I can't think of a single valid criticism of Mr Liebherr's new regime .

Our old football club's in safe hands at last , long may it continue .

Got a feeling that we're going to see a bit of cash splashed about in the next few weeks!

The pace will start to pick up...

What? You mean a football club may buy some 'players' in order to 'strengthen' their team?

I gotta feeling that your crazy 'out of the box' thinking might just have a 'shred of truth' in it - just maybe. :D

rather than just free's and loans is what i was getting at ;)

Heard Pard's on his SaintsTV interviewing saying it's nice to be on the right side of a takeover and also have money available to spend.

Yeah it is a kind of weird/strange position to be in after the last few seasons -almost as if we should feel a kind of guilty pleasure about spending money.

Probably a major pain in the bum, but can anyone summarise the highlights? I am in France on an iPhone and the player required doesn't seem to be available.

I haven't scanned the entire thread yet to see if it has been done already. If it has then ignore me - I'll find it.

He's Feeling very excited about the future.

He would have liked the season to start a few weeks later - we missed preparation time due to problems we all know about.

We are working to add more people to the squad

It's all about time - things will happen. Wife hasn't seen much of Nicola as he has been constantly at the club, said he hopes a few surprises will be announced shortly.

They're attempting to bring the club back to life in a balanced/structured method.

Feels fans response has been unbelievable, has been surprised - in a good way - by the take up in season ticket sales.

Reporter - ''How is Markus feeling at the moment?

Nicola then put across a quote from ML's wife - ‘’After Ajax match, he went back to Switzerland - got home v late. Sat down on his chair and fell asleep with a wide smile on his face.’’

And finally...the most ''solid'' yes we have had in years...

''Will there be money spent on players?''

''Yes''

the countries top scorer last year would fit in with signing that would cost a fee and excite fans.

We ain't going to be attracting top internationals but the top scorer at this level would be one Nicola could safely say would impress.

What a refreshing change it is to have this sort of person in charge of running our club. Giant egos nowhere in sight, instead just modest, but very professional people with a vision, who just quietly go about achieving their ambitions, also having the decency along the way to quietly allay the doubts and fears of those who have become cynical over the past decade that this sort of thing could be happening to us.

All of a sudden, the dark clouds have vanished and have been replaced with optimism for a bright future. Apart from a few fools who are unecessarily impatient that we haven't yet signed up Football's World stars, there is a unity amongst the fan base that hasn't existed to this extent for years and years.

Right. I can't for one second take this. Where's all the *****ing, where's all the synicism, the in-fighting? Do we not want someone out yet? Has no one a bad word to say? Is there not someone or something we should be getting behind FFS?

Quite nice isn't it.
