Colchester Build-Up thread

Never started one of these, so hopefully the MODS will oblige and sticky it?

Anyhow, really, really need to see a Saints win today and a convincing one too. Our time surely must be right now for a big push out of the negative pts zone and upwards. All the components are in place! Hope for a noisy and fun atmos from all stands today too - the team needs every minute of our support even if things are not looking rosy.

Come on you Saints!!!!

PS: contrary to previous reports, Papa Waigo will not be playing but will be revealed to the crowd 10 minutes before KO today.

what is funny..is that I predict a win most weeks whilst many others dont...yet somehow, I am negative...lol

Happy clappers call you negative because you dont make up lame excuses for poor performances and/or results. if we lose then you ask why, while the happy clappers are happy to lean on 'we were in admin'

didnt actually lose any time - Wotte took the 1st 2 weeks then AP took over and carried on.

the 'we missed pre-season' excuse is bollix just as 'we were in admin 2 months ago'

either way...we have played plenty of games for the "no pre-season" excuse not to be used....

colchester have been in trouble lately...again, no win today = no excuse..

I think Colchester will expect a defeat today - Col's team is in poor form, lost manager, lost players & fans are angry at chairmans ambition.....

like you say anything other than a win today must be seen as unacceptable.

i'd be amazed if anyone can still make excuses - however the ambition of some on here is criminal and no doubt some will regurgitate the "admin" and "pre-season" or "it takes time" bullcrap.

One of my favourites after a defeat is "we looked better today - someone will get a real beating soon"

funny..that if we were on colchesters position today and lost..we would use the upheaval they have had and a proper prime excuse...players lost, managers first game, no ambition by the chairman..

sorry, a win today is the bare minimum...ffs, we bought their captain

That's not really an answer though is it? Surely no one decided we'd not win for 5 games just for a laugh....so something must be wrong. What is it?

Fitness?

Training?

Preperation?

Players?

Desire?

Manager?

Fans?

Mentality?

Set-up?

Strengh?

Pace?

Skill?

combination of 2 or 3 of above imo

Problem is other teams in L1 will also be weak in 2 or 3 (maybe more) of above - we just need to exploit weaknesses much like teams do to us.

On paper we are one of the best teams in L1 - its time to start producing to our best on the pitch.

I'd go for:-

If you start with Pato & Lambo upfront, you leave yourself with d*ck all attacking options if you want to change things up front. (Or if you get an injury)

That has no logic! :D

If you want to change things or have an injury whilst playing Paterson and Lambert upfront you could change it to the line up you suggested.
