Luton were at Salisbury on saturday and it came from their end we tried to buy Tom Craddock their forward a fortnight ago. 700k but it fell through. Not sure why, he is well upset it didnt happen apparently.
What were they doing then - chanting some long-winded ditty about it?

How did he get on anyway?

I'm sure I read a quote attributed to AP, who said we tried to sign of conference player but it fell through. I thought at the time it was possibly Craddock and therefore this is probably true. As said above, we may go back in January unless of course, there is some reason (possibly medical) that we pulled out of the deal.

I dont know why it failed .Could it be that the gregorz bid was held up and so thye pulled out of the deal as it did not give them a chance ot get a replacement in time???

Aren't you making a very large assumption there? Maybe Luton don't want to sell him, and I very much doubt that they would want to send their star man out on loan.

A nice lump sum of say £200k followed by another £500k in January would be very appealing to any team in our league let alone the conference.

Those sort of deals are not allowed outside the transfer window!!

I think you can? kind of like a gentlemans agreement between the clubs.

Not sure if its changed, but Wolves did this sort of deal for Kightly a few years back.

3 month loan with an option to buy in jan iirc.

Apart from all the wonderful wittyness it seems rather odd to me that a team which has gotten into Administration is turning down £700K?!

They are not now in admin and we also do not know why the deal fell through.

Luton are pushing for promotion back into the league and so may just think that keeping the forward may be the difference. As i said i dont know why it didnt come off.

mark paul was a striker that dave jones brought back in the 1998-99 summer from kings lynn! At the time it was lynn/ record fee paid for one of there players! Jus cant remember how much we paid for him! Only spent a year at saints i think

http://www.ex-canaries.co.uk/players/paul.htm

"an untapped Michael Owen because of the way he finishes and the fact that he's very quick and very direct. "

btw that's an amazing site, the guy must have incredible dedication to Norwich to have an up to date biography of a player who only ever had a trial at the canaries!
