Anyone any inside info on Murtys Injury?

The OS has remained resolutely silent on this injury and has not updated his situation for ages just states, knee ligament damage, which as we know can mean any number of things.

I appreciate in the new era we have precious few people ITK but wondered if anyone had seen him or asked anyone at the reserves game at all?

4-6 weeks would be fantastic if it happens. Am I the only one who believes that with what he brought to us in strength of defence at RB, ability to get forward and put a ball on a striker's head from the byeline, great throw ins, good corner kicks and leadership qualities, we would have had an extra win or two already under our belts?

The experience/reading of the game and back to match fitness..was only going to be a BIG plus for us.....Definitely lost points and damage to my predictions table..otherwise I would be way out in the lead...Putting Saints down for a win every game has also held me back.....Murty back soon ..hopefully and Saints to win big on Saturday..at least 3-0.

COYRs.....Met Murty and he is not only a nice guy but a true pro and will be good for the Saints in many other ways...

I thought that Murty and James worked very well together on the right and gave us a decent threat. Nice to see a someone playing right back for us who is an actual right back and knows how to play at right back.

In my very non expert opinion a 6 weeks recovery from serious knee ligament damage sounds a tad optimistic - indeed I'd like to see the quote where Pardew actually said that . I was under the impression that injures of this nature take time to settle before they can be properly accessed even .

Didn't someone say a week ago they'd seen him still on crutches ?

I don't recall any such quote which is why I posted. I agree utterly with what others have said and I took believe we may have had a win or 2 with him around including the brum gamecif he'd stayed on. Can someone ask at the forum. In this case I am taking no news to mean bad news I'm afraid

I spoke to someone at the reserves game on Tuesday, he said he was just talking to Stuart Henderson who said it was "a matter of weeks rather months" before he would be back.

Great news if true. He's the sort of player that could be the final piece in the jigsaw for us. Can't be underestimated how much we've missed that overlapping full back on the right....

Echo web site has the info - AP says he is about 3 weeks away.

Now I really hope this proves to be true for two reasons - the most obvious being that he looks a fine player and his experience helps the others, the second being that it will shoot down in flames all the drama queens who shouted "conspiracy - career over - they aren't telling us, blah blah blah" ;)

Oh, i forgot to say !!!!! Saw Murty outside the ground today signing autographs. He was on one crutch.

I asked him how he was getting on and he said that it will be a week before he looses the crutch and a week after that to start running. I said how long does he think it would be ?? He replied he didn't know it would be up to the surgeon.

So basically, i think it could be a longish one.
