Saint_clark Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 I think we should go scouting abroad for a RB, as the only quality ones here would probably cost a bomb. Let's put this new scouting network to the test...

SuperSAINT Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 Elliott Ward (Championship Quality centreback, who Pards has worked with before) Jason Puncheon (If he's NOT on a season long loan at MK Dons) Simeon Jackson (Would give opposition defenders something totally different to think about)

Andy_Porter Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 Jack Cork - Really rated him while he was with us, the cultured ball playing defender we lack. Moritz Volz - Assuming he isn't injured he'd be perfect for our right back problem. Sam Vokes - Loan to buy would be ideal. Three players who are all proven at the level above us who would hopefully be willing to step down for 6 or 18 months.

Doubt Cork would come permanently, but I think his loan is up in 6 hours and 42 minutes. Volz, injuries permitting would be an electrifying addition to our squad. James is shocking. He has had ample opportunity to prove himself. Murty has many current injuries, they're a bad ohmen. Okay, I'm done...

Not sure about the fascination for MV, the guy has not played for a long time and was not much kop while at Ipswich. He's past it imo or he'd have been snapped up already. Must be better RB options around - signing MV will leave us with two old, slow and injury prone RBs in the squad....bit of a luxury for a mid table L1 side. Badger Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 He is 26 years old ffs and quite fast iirc I too remember him as a good player and in form would be a great signing.Big question though remains as to why no club has taken him on ? Attitude ? I heard him interviewed at the start of the season and he sounded level headed so I'm amazed he is still available.
SparkySaint Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 (edited) What about that Ryan Hartley who played for Exeter. He looked like a very useful player with a lot of class. He looked very confident and was causing us problems. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not snapped up by a championship club. I'm sure that Pardew will make good signings. He has made massive strides with bringing the team to a competitive level so i'm sure that he will be given all the funds he needs to add to the team. It will be very interesting to see what does happen and if we do make another "Lambert" style signing then I will be very happy Edited 31 December, 2009 by SparkySaint

ottery st mary Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 was Hartley their RB? Ryan Harley is a footballing midfield player with a reasonable amount of skill.Followed Tisdale from Team Bath/Uni to Exeter having been laid off as a pro..injuries..He is not really a left sided winger or an anchor man and not really much better than what we have.....50/50 if some leave Saints. SparkySaint Posted 31 December, 2009 Share Posted 31 December, 2009 (edited) He looked very dangerous for them and most of their chances were coming through him in the late stages of the game. I also thought that Troy Archibald-Henville, the player that got sent off, also looked very useful. He's on loan from spurs so he might be one to watch. Reminded me of Fabrice Muamba a bit. Just linking things together and breaking things up Edited 31 December, 2009 by SparkySaint

Just linking things together and breaking things up Seen them play a few times this year and can vouch for Harley being quite reasonable but no better than Lallana, Spiderman or Hammond....He is good going forward and can shoot. Troy AH is normally centre back or right of a back three...First time Defence midfield against us.....Very erratic and NOT always first choice at Exeter....Like Olly needs more games/experience/consistency. Both Troy AH and Seaborne need to play alongside the more experienced Matt Taylor (scored goal at St Marys) ie they both still need a lot of coaching. yorkiesaint Posted 29 January, 2010 Share Posted 29 January, 2010 So so far we have in: Gillet (loan expired) Barnard (Southend) Seabourne (Exeter) Fonte (Palace) Out: Trottman (loan expired) Mellis (loan expired) Patterson (Southend) Saganowski (random greeks) One in, one out as promised. If there are more comings there must be more goings...

Junior Mullet Posted 29 January, 2010 Share Posted 29 January, 2010 Probably be Puncheon in, Gobern out. Out on loan maybe but he's well thought of at the club. He's tall and naturally left footed - two traits that AP looks for.
