Noticed that as well, doesn't surprise me tbh. Can see him going to a newly promoted L1 club or perhaps Torquay if they're still interested in him (although I remember reading a Torquay fan's post on here about Jake, saying that he'd played well for the first half of the season and then lost it completely in the second and had dropped out of favour).

I see Torquay have dumped Scott Bevan too.

Shame for the guy

Yeah and after having Michael Poke on loan for parts of the last three or four seasons they havent bothered to pick him up now he has been released, they signed another keeper last week.

I thought he was highly rated down there !

Shame, hope he gets a club soon.

Scowcroft or Burgess CDAJFU imo. Both big strikers who would be able to offer cover for Sir Rickie.

Scowcroft is slow as f*ck and getting on a bit now, but Burgess CDAJFU for sure. Bullish and powerful, good in the air and holds the ball up well. Not sure whether he'd play second fiddle to Rickie though when he could easily get first team football at most other clubs at L1 level and perhaps even CCC (P*mpey?).

Scowcroft is ****, although he does like scoring at St Marys.

Saw him in a reserve match when we had the two dutch clowns in charge and he was pretty awfull, he was the only real experienced player on either side and he looked worse than pretty much everyone (apart from Molyneux, Forecast and Marsh-Brown bloke we had on trial)

As we really need someone to kick the **** out of people in midfield, then I would say that both Gavin Mahon and Shaun Derry could do a job at this level. Carsley would be great on the sort of deal we have Connolly at the moment.

Otherwise, would Gary McSheffrey be worth a gamble? Was a very very good player a couple of seasons ago.

Also spotted Sam Sodje in there...

Think injury's played a bigish part in that. The only thing that got either Poke or Bevan out of the team was injurys and both seemed to earn to keep the shirt when they had there chance.

I thought Poke would end up down here when we released him. But then I also thought they would have done as much as possible to get rid of Forcast and keep Poke.

Definitely: Danny Butterfield, Lee Carsley, Salif Diao, Gary McSheffrey, Franck Queudrue

Maybe: Fabian Brandy, George Boateng, Shaun Derry, Warren Feeney, Clint Hill, Gavin Mahon, Lloyd Sam, Sam Sodje

Maybe as back-up: Ryan Dickson, Dean Cox, Marcus Hall, Rob Kozluk, Jonathan Macken, Paul McVeigh, Moritz Volz

Moritz Volz will once again crop up in Saints fans lists of right backs that could join us, could be one of those players we link ourselves with every summer.

Has David Raven done anything of note since leaving Liverpool?

I heard he did a nice job of redecorating his mum's living room
