saints_is_the_south Posted 28 June, 2010 Share Posted 28 June, 2010 No discount for season ticket holders then. Dissapointing, thought ST holders got a bit of discount on tickets last season? Could be wrong. Should have made it £10 for adults, would have seen a 30k crowd, probably about 20-22k now I'd expect.
Sour Mash Posted 28 June, 2010 Share Posted 28 June, 2010 To be fair, I don't have a problem with any of that. Decent price for what is sort of a "biggish" game, anyone who wants a ticket will be able to get one and pretty close to where their season ticket is, maybe not perfect, but can't have any huge moans at this I think. Would you not say that reducing adult prices and increasing child prices, is a strange one? It is strange, I don't disagree with you. giving up the chance to get the kids in, future supporters, etc. However, I feel that your message is/will not get through via this forum. If you do feel strongly, and your comments suggest to me that you do, then might you consider organising a petition (online) perhaps? I reckon you have the necessary skills to arrange it but, in my opinion, you are just p!55!ng in the ocean to try and warm it up by using the forum. I for one would sign it! sotonjoe Posted 28 June, 2010 Share Posted 28 June, 2010 Fair enough if they don't want to offer season ticket holders reduced prices but why oh why can't we claim or 'own' seats. Frankly a discount seems more appropriate to people who've paid full whack for 40 years would be better................... Why? The deal on season tickets is quite clear and always has been. You pay a certain amount of money to have a guaranteed seat for a season's worth of league games. It's unlikely that this game will sell out, so no need for a priority system and I'm pretty sure everyone will be able to sit pretty much in the area they want, so what's the problem? Kids prices are probably a touch a high for this, but that is the only thing I can see to moan about here.

Instead of simply popping online and booking our individual tickets, someone needs to now collect 15 or so lots of £16 and then put it on their card or go to the ticket office to ensure we can still sit in the same area. It's a pain in the arse. And COMPLETELY avoidable with a little bit of thought towards the fans.

People like to sit in their normal seat, it's a benefit of a season ticket for every other club in the company... once again another benefit removed . It is indeed a pain the arse for people such as myself who do not live in Southampton. Meaning we have to now all meet up somewhere, swap cash over to one person who will then put it on his/her credit card, when by simply doing what every other club in the country does, we would be able to phone up individually. Also... charging season ticket holders a booking fee takes the p*ss. People might well moan about everything, you don't see it as a hassle, for many people it is. Are you another person who is incapable of putting yourself in someone elses shoes?

BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE TO SIT WITH THEIR FRIENDS AND PEOPLE THAT THEY SIT WITH FOR EACH AND EVERY GAME. What part of that is hard to grasp? And it is not a normal First round game, it is one where the popular area will sell out very quickly, due to Bournemouth having the larger allocation. Alanh Posted 29 June, 2010 Share Posted 29 June, 2010 Last season in the first round of the League Cup against Northampton we only opened two stands so there was no chance for some season ticket holders to have their own seats. At least this year there is at least a chance for everyone.
emerson massey Posted 29 June, 2010 Share Posted 29 June, 2010 I can understand the frustration about the seating policy, but i dont think the pricing is too bad. At the end of the day, we spent alot on players last year, and will probably again this year. All these players will probably be on good money, and our only real revenue stream is ticketing - prize money in this league is not even really worth it. If we want to go up to the Championship and then beyond, we will have to fund it somehow. May people say 'we have a rich owner - yay' and then go on to say ' but he doesn't like debt, wants to run the club well' - well, if thats the case, we will all have to pay a few extra pounds to help fund the push upwards. This is only my take on the situation, and i will probably be torn to pieces but it is how i see it.

Well then they can just buy their tickets together in the bit of the ground they want to, that's what I and everyone else I know is doing, what's so hard about that?
