How the hell can they contemplate sacking the guy that got them to the Premiership where they now sit in the top half (9th I think).

Because they are idiots. It's about time they realised that they are not Barcelona, they are a newly promoted team and that 17th or higher would this year be success.

Exactly - Newcastle United - MASSIVE club that has won the square root of sh@gshyte in the last, what 6 - 7 decades, now looking to offload the Manager that got them promoted (at the first attempt?) - some people are never satisfied...!!!

Maybe he is ****ging all the newcastle WAGs? Lots of football chairman have itchy trigger fingers, these days losing three games on the trot is cuase for a sacking it seems look at Notts county.

Total fallacy about Newcastle fans wanting Hughton out. Not one of them does, they love him up there. You will find the rumours circulating about Hughton under pressure have come from the press in an attempt to stir up trouble. Hughton has turned Newcastle in to a tough side to beat with a decent spine. Players like Coloccini, Williamson, Enrique, Barton, Nolan, Guthrie, Carroll etc have all improved under him and I know for a fact he is really popular amongst the fans up there.

he should have been sacked long, long before that; Crouch should have done it.This is my main beef with LC, he didn't face up to the evidence and do what was necessary.

I thought it was widely suggested at the time that we simply could not afford to sack him.

crap, we spent a million £ on Andrew Davies didn't we??? October/November 2007 was when it should have happened yet we still had over a million £ to throw away on a player we might have been able to keep on loan anyway.A pair of balls were what we were lacking,

Leon didn't want to rock the boat because he was planning his boardroom schemes to take over the club for nothing.

he was already finished in his last season with us, trouble is he took us down with him.Didn't matter who he bought, how much we spent or how much we paid the players they turned into crap overnight.

It did matter who he bought.

When many of us were crying out for a centre back to replace the injured Svensson and Lundekvam and the sold Baird (who I am chuffed to see doing so well at Fulham), Burley went and bought a fecking hatful of central midfielders (at one time we had 11 on our books) and not one of them could tackle a ham sandwich!

It was clear from pre-season he didn't have a clue how to take us forward. (which I agree makes your main point very valid).

Just dont understand how what you said was so obvious why did we not get in a CB apart from Bennett who is only a League 1 CB at best.

Although we had Saga Rasiak BWP we then got in Euell and John which seemed madness to me a bad as the decision to Appoint Wigley

Andrew Davies wasn't a bad buy.

tbf Davies was an emergancy loan signing, we had to wait until the 9th october to sign him.

and he's now playing for Walsall in L1 (well he was, but he's now injured for 4 weeks....again). The fact he was our player of the season says more about how bad we were.

Exactly. Season started in August, we signed the CB we needed in October...
