Adkins Saints Player Interview

Anyone seen this?

He talks about possible signings, either loan or permanent, and gives a few examples eg "do we loan a player from championship with view to sign or do we go for a young premier league player. If we go for a young premier league player then that blocks the pathway for our own youngsters to step up."

He then says "Or do we go for a leading light from League 2" and finishes this with a laugh and a broad smile on his face.

Could this be Le Fondre or that guy from Torquay?

I don't think we will get a loan, it sounded to me like he was saying we want to take our time and get the right player in January, not 'any old player for the sake of it' on loan.

Could be wrong.

Either way, in Nigel we trust!!!!!!!!!!

Always like his Saints Player interviews. He sounds happy, cheerful and enthusiastic. Sounds like he gets on well with NC too...

Not really many players in League Two who could do a job in the Championship if Saints go up, so I think it is a subtle hint to Adam Le Fondre. Nigel Adkins has commented on him in the past.

He is quite a handful!...

Le Fondre would be an excellent signing i think but his price tag is too high for a league 2 player.

I think Woolford from S****horpe is another decent option that looks plausible.

Can't beleive Sproule went to Yeovil ffs.

You're getting as predictable as Dalek, you're not his agent by any chance?

I'd prefer we went for leading light from League 1 personally, even though Peterborough were sh*te i liked the look of Mackail-Smith on saturday, looked a handful and got a few goals this season.

I didn't think McLean did too badly either - with better players around him he could be a handful.

If you are Dalek's agent, I think you need to pull your socks up. He's in danger of getting typecast.

That's not the Agent's fault - more the limited talent of his client. If you can only deliver one line, then the options are severely restricted.

Sounds like there may be at least two or three quality additions come the end of Jan then. Be great to see a striker in on loan this week and if we have targeted LeFondrr and can get him early that would be very good.

Would be great to see another CB and Midfielder too.
