Rory Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 Charlton are the team who I think will break our hearts this year by either nabbing an auto-promotion place or beating us in the play-offs. Just a hunch.

Just a hunch. An ex Saint will rob us of our second place if he can, you bet. We should have signed him.
sandwichsaint Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 Charlton were pants on Saturday for 80% of their game, if we can't take 6 (or 4) points off them we prob don't deserve to go up!
Saints foreva Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 Charlton are an example of how poor the league is compared to last season. They lost three key players in the Summer and replaced them with players who are not as good as the players who departed, yet here they are with a great chance at a top two spot. sfc1971 Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 All we have to is keep winning be it pretty or ugly. Then look at the league come the final w/end after we have all played a full season. Dont worry about others thats when mistakes are made. We will be fine. Ken Tone Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 We really need to stop worrying about other teams and just get on with our own games. It's league 1 ffs. I have no interest in promotion due to Bournemouth/Huddersfield/Charlton being slightly more crap than us. I'm not sure you've fully grasped the concept of a league table. Fan The Flames Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 We can afford for Charlton to go upto 5 points clear of us as we will thrash them home and away.
NorthamSteve Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 I think the most important thing is to beat them and at least draw with them in the second game. Then it will be in our own hands.
'00' Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 Based on results so far this season and projecting them forward Charlton will finish with 80 and Bmouth & Huddersfield with 79,Saints on 78.. Stats ..ha
Window Cleaner Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 We can afford for Charlton to go upto 5 points clear of us as we will thrash them home and away. Well I hope you're right there.Unfortunately I believe that points on the board are more important than available points because they give Brighton,Charlton and Bournemouth the option to shut up shop for a draw in their home games against us.As the poll has 250 or so amongst us who believe that we will make the play-offs at best I can see that others see it that way as well (although I'm in the runners up camp).I wish we had a game this evening because we're still 3 behind the original fixture schedule. SFKA South Woodford Posted 15 February, 2011 Share Posted 15 February, 2011 It would be great to get home from the pub quiz tonight and find out that Charlton and Bournemouth have both lost, unfortunately I fear the opposite will be true! Come to think of it, I might put a bet on them both winning. My luck is so bad that they should then at best draw, but with my luck the referee would play half an hour of extra time allowing Bournemouth and Charlton to get a winner!
