The atmospere today

One of the best away atmospheres of the season.

Very poor home support in terms of noise and songs.

I found the stewards to be very good today, showed common sense and polite.

Despite us not thinking that this is a local deby etc, some of our supporters got a little over excited when we scord and a few broke through the barriers- that was a bit embarrasing.

There were probably 3/4000 there today who only turned up just to see Southampton and wont go again .Didn't seem to know any of their songs or players for that matter.Consequently they didn't contribute to the atmosphere one iota. Whereas the majority of Saints fans today were hardcore regulars and gave their all to support the lads.

Why is that embarrassing to you? Unless you were one of the idiots, all you have as a connection with them is a following of the same football team by shear chance. No need to be embarrassed by them as you have no control over their actions.

Couldn't tell whether the Bournemouth fans were loud or not. All you can hear is the noise immediate around you. Interested to hear what people have to say from a different part of the ground.

"....we don't care about you" was a new one on me that seemed to catch on fast. Very arrogant, but it seemed in context. Enjoyed the atmosphere once we had a two goal cushion but shat myself before that.

I was in the West Stand today and have to say that the noise didn't travel very well from the away section or Bournemouth's end. Poor acoustics at that ground.

But as you're quite clearly a Bournemouth fan that's just glossing over the fact your cup final support didn't live up to the ocassion and were easily outsung by 1300 visitors.

All your posts take a similar line and have all appeared only around the 3 times we've played you.

Give it up and we'll see you in about another 50 years or so.

I've looked at his posts to, odd mix, he's either a Cherries fan masquerading as a Saints fan or as he's said he happens to live in Bournemouth and supports them as his second team. Regardless, his posts haven't exactly been confrontational like some of the pompey fans we get on here trolling as Saints.

Was a cracking atmosphere. Great to have our entire away support singing as one for virtually the entire game. I have just awoken with a very sore head and barely a voice. Pancakes missus should sort me out though. :)

That's what mates are for eh? ;)

Funnily enough i thought he was a gheyer, maybe that's why he doesn't mind

I was in the far corner of the North Stand, so quite far away from the away end, and as a Bournemouth fan you will think I'm biased, I could here that you were singing but not what you were singing about until towards the end of the second half. I would say its the grounds acoustics. I thought your support was good today, and why not your on a good run up the league.

Maybe the posts about lots of you being in the home end were 'tongue inn check' as i had the opportunity on 3 occasions (unfortunately) to have a good look around the stand and not a peep.

My family of saints fans haven't texted me since the 2nd goal which is nice of them, if the shoe was on the other foot......

Oh our fans were in there alright. They just weren't there to act the Billy Big Balls or wind things up. The best way is to keep schtum? They would have been more noticeable for not cheering when your team scored? One of them, reporting on this forum, states that he was sussed because of that. Big team in L1 ?- definitely (as DW says) Deserve to be in L1 ?- definitely. Arrogant fans? Like all teams we have some and today we are enjoying another 3 points on the board. We just happened to be playing your team this weekend.

The jockeying for 2nd is not over and done with. Any of at least four or five teams could claim that place. We are probably in a good position, with games in hand. Games in hand does not equal points on the board so it's all very much up in the air. Your team is one of that group, don't give up on them.

Hopefully we will grab 2nd and you'll win the playoffs.

As ESB said, the ones in there weren't in there to cause trouble - just ordinary fans who couldn't get seats for the away section due to the pathetic allocation given us!! Christ we take that many to Carlisle, Hartlepool and Tranmere etc etc.

Why jump up and down and draw attention to yourself when it had already been publicly announced that any away supporters in the home sections would be chucked out.

Spot on, I recognised several saints fans in the South stand! Alot of smug looking smiles! I doubt there was any in the North Stand, you are probably right, but definately everywhere else in the ground!

Here's yours truly with 3 others in your South Stand...

Not to mention one of ours who got a bit carried away after the 2nd went in. I am surprised you didn't miss his goal celebration from your end - the look on the Bompey faithful was priceless.

I knew at least 12 in the South stand and there were quite a few others.

Best atmosphere this season by far that is what away support should be like really enjoyed the day singing was constant great day out probably the best we have had in this league maybe Orient last year or MK Dons in the JPT semi good work lets keep it up

Yep, thought it was excelent support (for a change), shows what a difference it makes if everyone is stood up, decent range of songs get an airing. Can't get over how pretty much silent the Bournemouth lot were in their cup final, especially considering what a good start their team had.
