saintoaks Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 Bloody marvellous !!, went to buy the new kit for my excited kids last week, only to find out Umbro had messed up big time and not sent any socks.... Estimated time of arrival...........End of August !! Sort it out !!
Saint-Armstrong Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 Couldn't you just buy them some cheap/plain white Umbro socks from somewhere like Sports Direct / Sports World. With the home kit I just wear my red and white England socks with some old Black Saints shorts when I play football, saves money.

saintoaks Posted 26 July, 2011 Author Share Posted 26 July, 2011 Not the point..Saints will lose the revenue and Mr Cortese will not be happy Couldn't you just buy them some cheap/plain white Umbro socks from somewhere like Sports Direct / Sports World. JRM Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 I have bought socks in the past for wearing in my 5-a-side games, no excuse for them not having them until the end of August, thought it was bad last year when they sold out of the sash shirt not to get any more in for weeks and weeks, by which time they must have missed out on quite a few potential sales. Spudders Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 oh noes, no socks! Maybe this is an intentional move as they have a new range of SFC blister plasters in stock? The most important thing is that we all pull together and hopefully we'll get through these difficult times.
The9 Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 As I said on launch day, JJB website has some Rangers away socks from last season in kids' sizes for £1 a pair - the only differences with the Saints home socks this season are that the feet (which you can't see) aren't grey, and the Umbro logo is white not yellow - it should at least tide them over if you still want to fork out for the "real" socks, or save you a few quid if not. http://www.jjbsports.com/rangers%20away%20socks%202010/11%20/umbro/shop/fcp-product/15601
Barry the Badger Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 I am pretty sure Cortese will be struggling to sleep, so angry will he be at the lost sock revenue. Seriously though, where do people get this impression that Cortese is involved in EVERYTHING that happens at the club? I would say there's a very strong chance he doesn't know about 'sockgate'. Seriously though, where do people get this impression that Cortese is involved in EVERYTHING that happens at the club? I would say there's a very strong chance he doesn't know about 'sockgate'. I got that impression from the fact that so many people convinced are he earns his salary that he therefore cannot sleep and spends 24 hours at the club and makes every decision personally. Though more realistically I would think that the various rumours I've heard at different times about him being very hands on and various staff members not being particularly keen on this over the last 2 years due to abrupt changes of direction and plans would suggest that he does get involved with a lot directly. The9 Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 So let me get this straight, you're an adult who not only buys the shirt, but also likes to dress up in the full strip? I've answered this elsewhere, see if you can find it. Not sure I've ever worn the full kit all together at once other than the times I was playing for the Saints Innernets team against other fans' sides, or the one season we had a team in the Sholing Press League - and on those occasions kit was provided. And I'm not sure which part of "I bought Rangers away socks for a quid last season" feeds into your theory anyway ?

The9 Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 You like to dress up in the full Pompey kit too. In which case I'd buy a load of England away socks from 2 years ago. As it happens I've got 25 pairs of them in the garage. This is actually true.

Durleyfos Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 Aparently they've run out of the little sachets of sugar in the Dell Cafe, and no-one has been able to get to the cash and carry yet. BASTARDS. They can have my season ticket back. I'm not being treated like this.

St. Jason Posted 26 July, 2011 Share Posted 26 July, 2011 F*ck me! What's happened to everyone! Everytime I come on her someone moaning about something. If 'no socks' is really an issue for you then you've got issues! FFS what is it with you people??? Surely a fan, customer going to a shop to purchase a advertised product is entitled to complain, moan whatever if part of the product isn't there? I have kids, and my friends have kids and they (kids) all love wearing the whole kit to the games! Why can't a FELLOW fan make a just complaint without all you 'uber super' fans knocking him, slating him for daring to make any statement against the club? It's not just this thread, it's every f@%$ing thread where anyone speaks out against the club. Fine, if you 'uber super' fans are happy to take everything the club throws at you, pay all the increases etc that's cool, but if some aren't they are perfectly entitled to voice said opinion! If nothing else, regardless of what you think, it is a poor show the club not having the socks, and again regardless of what you think, i'm sure NC will be p!ssed that this has happened, every product sold goes towards Saints be a self sufficient business! Just give fellow fans a break, he's not calling for 'heads to roll' saying this is 'another Cortesse' **** up, simply a thread saying he was gutted he couldn't by the full kit!! Rant over, i'll just leave you super duper fans to bask in the light you shine on yourselves.................super duper!
