HCDAJFU - The transfer deadline countdown

some guy on twitter (see the Ramirez thread)

The Tello deal is possible. Barca want him to sign a long term contract, otherwise he may be free to leave. IF he signs that then the Twitter stories were that they would let him out on a season long loan.

All highly improbable but then so was the thought of seeing Citeh with 10 men behind the ball in the last 10 mins yesterday and watching them hoof it anywhere clear as the Red Arrows rained down on them

Is a converted winger who tracks back and would work well as an inside forward in a 4-3-3 or play at the top on his own. Yesterday won't be the only time we consider dropping Lambert for someone more mobile.

If this is the guy I,m thinking of with a funny haircut he is awful, doesn't pass much and misses tons of chances. Seen him play about four times.

We're not going to sign another keeper. HTH
In that case we're going to be in deep trouble. Perhaps a new CB will make Kelvin more stable but in the Premier League we can't afford a keeper who is unable to catch and smother the ball. That we haven't signed a quality keeper is a huge disappointment. When Saints have been at their best we've had the best goalkeeper around. This is no longer the case.

I listened to the people....

Lets try to keep this about players we are linked to ;)

Shouldn't it be called "rumours countdown" or something then? HCDAJFU leaves it open for people to suggest whoever they like (Kitson, TBH ). That was the problem with the old thread....no one knew what it was about by the end.

LB is the tricky one. I guess all depends on how close Shaw is to being first choice.

If he is at all close, is it worth spending the 3-4m needed for someone better than Fox. As we pursued Buttner I guess initially we felt he was not ready, but potentially maybe we have reassessed how quickly Shaw will be ready and prefer to focus the cash elsewhere.

Ramirez, Phillips, Butland and a class CB would do it for me, but I guess you would not get much change from 30m for that lot. I think we as fans are asking too much.

Ramirez 12m Butland 10m at a minimum. Phillips 6m, 'class' CB 6/7/8m? Lot of money and can't see it. Could see Ramirez Phillips and a CB though

I think if we were going to bring in another keeper then Artur Boruc would be a great signing, was excellent at Celtic and very solid at Fiorentina the last two seasons as well. Only 32 and available on a free transfer.

Look here JustMikes! saintsrob is flouting your authority!

Time to draw the iron fist from the velvet glove or whatever!

"The Shields Gazette claim that five clubs have matched Adam Johnson's £10m asking price. He had apparently rejected two of those clubs, leaving Sunderland and two others who are both top-eight clubs. Tottenham are thought to be the team in pole position to land Johnson."

Could we be one?

No HTH
