saint1977 Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Richard shouldn't have done that though. If that was an opposition fan throwing it at Kelvin we would want the book thrown at them. Lowe has behaved appallingly today but there's still no excuse for what Richard did. He needs to have a long look at himself as he's embarrassed himself on a citywide and possibly local scale. saint1977 Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Bizarre isn't it?! Can we expect an OS article every time a fan gets nicked? I agree but there's a lot of history between Rupert and Richard. People will now focus on that rather than Rupert's wacky and unprofessional behaviour today. I know Richard is passionate but that really didn't help today.

Leslie Charteris Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 There is a big difference between aiming a coin from the stands and chucking a handful of change in someone's lap shouting "Judas" or whatever. saint1977 Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Fine. But why does that deserve its own article when the key issues discussed at the meeting are ignored? Answer: no. But Rupert was in a fighting mood today so I knew it would go up on the OS. It doesn't do Rupert any favours either and Martin Samuel's next article is going to be very interesting! exit2 Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 We spoke about this earlier. WHat Rich should have done was buy some chocolate money and used that instead. I think a lot of people have overlooked the idea of the money representing the money Judas Iscariot was paid for betraying Jesus, his own reference to Michael Wilde's decision to support Lowe this year after originally ousting him. I thought it was very clever

He needs to have a long look at himself as he's embarrassed himself on a citywide and possibly local scale. He was representing the 30 pieces of silver. In hindsight he might have been better off buying some silver papered chocolate coins rather than using real ones, but the sentiment would still have been the same. He has shown himself to be a complete numpty many times in the past, but to be fair this time he has a valid point!!

Lowe didn't get coined, it was a piece of drama, a protest with some symbolism and the very fact that the OS is carrying a piece on it seems fckuking ridiculous. I was seriously thinking of lobbing my season ticket (OK my mates seasons ticket) on the running track on Saturday, would I be hauled out for lobbing missiles??? NickG Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Lowe was more unpopular last time IMO, but only went (after a fight) when someone put their money where their mouth is and forced him out. Window Cleaner Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Not if it hit someone and it went to court it wouldn't. I'm disappointed it happened. Richard was silly, should have bought at least a couple of shares so that Rupert couldn't deny the fact that he was a shareholder in his own right, with every right to attend the meeting. Smacks of amateurism if you ask me.A shareholders proxy you see, ie no individual right to be present, lowest of the low etc etc. Don't care about the rest, all's fair in love and war and all that, but get the basis of being there right at least. Fowllyd Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Now I don't want to be argumentative, but I think that this http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=11124 is a better comedy article. Just look at this classy quote: Striker David McGoldrick started the season well with a glut of goals against Cardiff and Derby and two against Exeter City in the Carling Cup, and has shouldered a lot of the goal-scoring responsibility up-front, but apart from himself and Andrew Surman, goals from other sources have been in short supply. A glut of goals? Now that's comedy!
Tamesaint Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 It was stupid of Chorley to throw real coins. Chocolate money or better still a shoe would have had better dramatic effect. It is even more stupid of Lowe to put this on OS. The beeb and other organisations who trawl websites looking for stories will pick up on it and it will make their news. It may even make the national news and then the world will learn that there is opposition to Rupert. By putting it on the website, Rupes is giving Chorley the publicity that he is looking for. Just shows what a t***er Rupes is.
