SoG, the old girl has been processed, had her appeals, and lost. It's no more complicated than that. Forget the emotions of her age and family status, that's just pulling at your heart strings. If she was 52 you'd think differently, but the principle would be the same.

Anyways, you agree that the immigration service is allowed to to do what they're doing, so I'm unsure what you're actually arguing now.

My point was, and is, that my original use of the phrase “picked on” is perfectly valid. Let’s put this into perspective. There are about 341 million people in the US. This 73 year old lady has complied consistently with the requirements made of her. She has been resident in the US since the 1990’s, has worked and raised a family there.
The current regime has decided to get rid of the “worst of the worst”  illegal immigrants as a priority, which of course is their right.

Two points. How does this lady qualify to be in this worst of the worst category now, after more than 30 years, given her apparent  excellent record as a resident?
Second point. Why arrest a 73 year old lady in handcuffs and put her in a detention centre for “processing” when she is clearly not a flight risk and is willing to comply with the deportation order?

She is being treated the same as the “worst of the worst.” I don’t think it is unreasonable to say that she is being picked on.

I’d be interested to hear why so many of her appeals have failed over such a long period of time. Still, handcuffing and incarcerating a compliant older lady, who is prepared to do whatever she is told to do by the authorities, is shameful.

Moving on. Another example of what a dreadful and divisive country the US of A has become under Trump’s regime.

This is a direct quote by someone whom the President has hailed as an “American hero.”

”I am also going to offer some context and some nuance about the death of George Floyd that no one dares to say out loud, which is that this guy is a scumbag. Now, does that mean he deserves to die? That’s two totally different things - of course not.”

Say the same quote but exchange the name Charlie Kirk for George Floyd and the President and his gang will denounce you and call for you to lose your job.

As I type this Trump is blatantly lying in a speech at the UN and is also dissing them!

The details of her appeals are irrelevant. The US process has been followed. As a result she has overstayed her welcome. Her age and circumstances are irrelevant.

People either respect legal systems or due process or we don't. I do.

Wonderful. If only ICE were rounding up drug dealers, rapists and murderers ahead of grannies, home depot workers and school teachers.

Apparently the troops sent to Washington have nothing to do.

To fill the time they've started picking up litter and trimming grass verges.

Well, the litter probably doesn't have a valid visa.

Democrat Judge stands up to Trump's Department of Justice, then her home is destroyed in a suspected arson attack whilst her family are inside;

Just another random incident unrelated to violent partisan politics, and certainly not down to the 'RADICAL LEFT'.

Absolutely no evidence of arson at the moment.

National Guard troops from state being used in another.

Doesn't look great there.

Nutz

Interesting test of the independence of individual States from Federal control or interference. It will all come down to whether the Supreme Court agrees with the Trump administration, ( hhmmm, how likely is that I wonder ), that there is sufficient evidence of a 'rebellion' or 'insurrection' that would grant the Constitutional authority for Federally mandated deployment of National Guard troops from other states.

( Washington DC being a different case, as it is directly managed by the Federal Government. Mind you, the NG deployed there have been spending most of their time litter picking and mowing grass verges ).

Governor Kevin Stitt coming out against it and reminding people he sued Biden when he did it on vaccines https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/kevin-stitt-trump-national-guard-b2843430.html

Mainly on the grounds that if a Republican President does it now, a Democrat could do it later.  However, Trump is certainly testing the limits of the Constitution and the Federal structure of the country. He is increasingly hacking away at the principle of three equal and independent branches of Government, providing checks and balances to each other.

I don't get the self harm being done to the country but then again it does seem the likes of Trump, Miller etc dont give a shit about anyone but themselves.

Project 2025 lays out a vision for the future of the United States, which is basically a rolling Republican Government based on guns, the Bible, and a woman's role being "Kinder, Küche, Kirche". ( And it would certainly be beneficial to have European ancestry ).

Trump was only partially joking when he told a group of Christian students "Vote for me this time, you won't need to vote again. We will fix it for you". He is also stretching to breaking point the rules on Presidents not using their position to enrich themselves or their families.

Yep, I've seen stuff on Project 2025.

Just sounds like a massive clusterf*ck.

Project 2025 has been talked about for years and shit tons of it is happening.

Purely the rich getting richer and not governing for the people.

The country is a mess, and won’t be getting better any time soon.

That's why I think it sums the US up nicely.

There's a way to tell people that the they reap what they sow. Then there's a divided, I don't give a shit about the other lot, US way.

Sadly, that's a cold we're catching.

Its sad but it does seem like that the US is already to split. Where have all the centre mid people gone?

The woman has a point though. Until it impacts them, they ain't giving a shit of what is happening.

Trump gets a covid and flu shot.

Meanwhile RFK is busy telling everyone that vaccines aren't great.

🤔

Its actually worse,  actively dismantling the CDC which monitors diseases etc for people's benefits.

Is there a reliable source that Donny (and his family) have been vaccinated?

Hope so.
