Brexit wasn't exactly a left/right issue, some Labour MPs supported the Leave campaign, and it is estimated that up to 4 million Labour voters voted for Brexit.

It’s even true to a certain extent of more conventional left/right and the discourse. The centre ground the likes of me, @egg@Holmes_and_Watson and others sit in has become smaller since the Brexit referendum. Yes, I do look at the extremes and think the nation is closer to becoming ungovernable as the element of compromise that sustained the two broad parties was ripped up by Corbyn and the ERG coup on the Tory party. 

I'm only at the centre, because the extremist views I hold in all directions cancel each other out. 🙂

Like anyone, it’s boring to read posts referring to huge broad ranges of people eg ‘the left’, ‘the right’, ‘far right’, ‘Antifa’ etc. I can only speak personally, but it gets up my nose and it shows a lack of understanding (although often it’s done to wind people up).

Whereas when people actually want to discuss the issues even if their views are different, I find that interesting.

It's all in your head. Everyone has their own set of morals and values and each individual obviously think theirs is right. Pigeonholing people into 'left' and 'right' is just bullshit nowadays anyway, you can be socially conservative but be economically liberal or vice-versa, everyone is different.

Usually my first reaction is to use new views to challenge my own. World's worst in a rally.

Obviously, I'm cautious in tonight's chat of being accused of considering myself to be superior. But that's just another trap. I'm happy to settle for being better. 🙂
