Willo of Whiteley Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Saints draw or lose a game - the “Sport Republic” thread roars back into life for a few days with the usual waffle. Saints win a game - the “Sport Republic” thread is mute, silent, nothing… Guess which phase we’re in now? 😂

These lot are truly dreadful owners and they have been since day one. 7

Lard Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I wish we were owned by a consortium fronted by Simon Jordan. 1

Didn't expect to see "I wish we were Palace circa 2004-05" but there we go. Palace supporters don't exactly miss him, which should tell you enough. Much easier to snipe at Steve Parish from the sidelines than it is to run a club. I wonder if in an alternative universe people are saying "I wish Rupert Lowe was our chairman," but seeing how his popularity has only grown over time nationally, I'm not sure I want to think too much about this notion.

We go through the same posts week in week out on this thread but they only appear after a draw or defeat. Nothing is going to happen when the same posters write the same thing every other game. The same posters don’t need to reemphasise the same opinion after every draw. Their opinion hasn’t changed, we get it. Sport Republic have been crap, but they’ve invested. Ironically their best investments have been off the field with the fanzone and bits like that; it means absolute bugger all though when the footballing operation is crap. I’ll post the same thing again when we inevitably draw in our first game back after the international break.. 👍🏻

In the last 46 games we've only had 4 wins so the criticism of SR is expected and justified. Week in and week out we only draw or lose. If you want the criticism to stop, more wins on the pitch will fix it.

Yep we're stuck in a never ending cycle of criticism of SR as we're stuck in a never ending cycle of bad results, same old issues still unresolved 3

Another poster with bizarre "forum rules" that everyone has to follow. Are you related to Gio by any chance? 1 2

Willo of Whiteley Posted Friday at 10:58 Posted Friday at 10:58 I think we were all taken in by Dragan Solak's comments in the summer, we thought the line had been drawn in the sand about what a shambles the previous few years had been. We are miles off of it. We thought we'd get ready-made players for this league and for the most part I think we do. Azaz, Fellows; even Scienza and Jelert are more than capable of performing at this level. But they also weren't positions we desperately needed, bearing in mind you still have Edozie and Aribo on the fringes, Robinson breaking through and plenty of other players that are more than capable for this position. The bit we have messed up on again is a competent and trustworthy goalkeeper and a striker. Ross Stewart is not it, yes he has been unfortunate with injuries but you can't be relying on promotion on a player that spends most of his time injured. Equally you don't bring in a striker to appease the fans who has done very little in general and still very young. I want a striker who has a bit of muscle, who pts his body about, who fights for the ball and tussles with defenders. Downs isn't it either. It is still very early days and it could all come together but honestly who knows, I think we'll be in this iffy phase up until new year and I think we'll finish stronger. I think we'll finish anywhere between 4th and 8th. We have good players, it just needs to click. 3
