ChristopheVAFC Posted Sunday at 16:00 Posted Sunday at 16:00 Come on, girls! We're with you all the way!
benjii Posted Sunday at 16:01 Posted Sunday at 16:01 Spain coach thinking he's cool with a top-knot 🤣
Patches O Houlihan Posted Sunday at 16:02 Posted Sunday at 16:02 Spanish coach looks intimidating... 1
Saint_clark Posted Sunday at 16:02 Posted Sunday at 16:02 Lot of pressure put on Carter by Wiegman bringing her back in like that.
SW11_Saint Posted Sunday at 16:23 Posted Sunday at 16:23 Lauren James putting in her usual half-hearted performance… 2

benjii Posted Sunday at 16:26 Posted Sunday at 16:26 Terrible defending. Piss weak from the left back and everyone ball watching in the middle.
benjii Posted Sunday at 16:27 Posted Sunday at 16:27 Why isn't there a token bloke commentator? No one wants to listen to two shrill voices all match. 2

SWLondon Saint Posted Sunday at 16:28 Posted Sunday at 16:28 Like watching us last season, ball should've been cleared about 4-5 times, then everyone just ball watching as the cross came in. 1

I wouldn't even credit her with that. She's been awful and not providing any threat at all. Nice move for their goal but very poor marking to allow a free header.

benjii Posted Sunday at 16:31 Posted Sunday at 16:31 "How do Spain like their pasta cooked?" - "Caldentey" Thank you, I'm here all week.

Dr Who? Posted Sunday at 16:32 Posted Sunday at 16:32 James is not fully fit. Hemp runs and runs but has no end product. Our defence has been awful the whole tournament. Walsh is not great, carter has no pace, and Stanway is not as good as she was 4 years ago. I’m not really sure how we have got to the final. Good team spirit must take you a long way!
Saint Billy Posted Sunday at 16:33 Posted Sunday at 16:33 I see the England defence has been watching too much of our Jack

Saint Billy Posted Sunday at 16:37 Posted Sunday at 16:37 To be fair we watched this sort of standard all last season.
Dr Who? Posted Sunday at 16:37 Posted Sunday at 16:37 Just now, whelk said: We look shit To be fair, we looked good in the first 10/15. Better than we have all tournament. We have been pretty bad and somehow find ourselves in a final. All we can do is what we have done all through the knockouts hang in there and just hope we can nick a couple late on. I cannot see it against Spain though.

Sheaf Saint Posted Sunday at 16:40 Posted Sunday at 16:40 James down injured. Could be a blessing in disguise if she has to go off. 2
saintant Posted Sunday at 16:40 Posted Sunday at 16:40 England being given a lesson by Spain. It's women and girls out there.
Saint_clark Posted Sunday at 16:41 Posted Sunday at 16:41 Ridiculous decision to start her when she clearly wasn't fit. Played the first 40 minutes with 10 players. 4
saintant Posted Sunday at 16:43 Posted Sunday at 16:43 No idea why Kelly isn't picked from the start. Poor from the manager.
Sheaf Saint Posted Sunday at 16:44 Posted Sunday at 16:44 Instantly Kelly has made a huge difference. 1

Yeah and the commentators going on about beginning worth risking a not 100% fit James. I do not agree. Kelly should have started in this case.
trousers Posted Sunday at 16:44 Posted Sunday at 16:44 (edited) Where's our other goal scorer from the semi-final? (Sorry, not sure how to describe her appearance...) Edited Sunday at 16:45 by trousers
benjii Posted Sunday at 16:45 Posted Sunday at 16:45 (edited) OK, so first time I've properly watched a lady match. Touch and passing is nice and decent quality, but the defending is so passive. No gets stuck in. There's hardly been a tackle all match. Fuck em up, get into em! Spain are very neat and tidy, but they are just women, so it's still going to take them an age to get it into the goal so I don't see why we can't take formational risks. I'd get another striker on. Our striker, Russo, looks like a good player so I'd go for more of a an attacking 442 and sacrifice a CM for another forward. Edited Sunday at 16:46 by benjii

Kelly should have started in this case. Watching the replays of the Spain goal, James was just a spectator jogging about putting no pressure on the ball or the runner. She should have been hooked well before she decided to go down. 2

Keep mentioning Bronze but literally there can see everything building up and then does fuck all but watch her player. Absolute basics
Holmes_and_Watson Posted Sunday at 16:54 Posted Sunday at 16:54 England's best chance was a strong start, to dictate the play and push Spain back. We got a couple of flashes of it. One where James might have got to a ball across, and a second with Hemp intercepting and forcing the save. After that, it's been played to Spain's tempo. They have throttled the midfield. England haven't sussed out how to regain possession, but release Kelly, Hemp or Russo. Mainly because all 3 are doing defensive work. England haven't been in control long enough to build anything. They've tried to use Carter to launch a few longer balls, but with no success. James often plays within herself, but was clearly not firing on all cylinders today. That did contribute to England's early attacks fizzling. A much tougher ask to break Spain down in the second half. But hopefully they'll drop back, allowing England a few direct chances.
