Got to love the guy! He is totally committed to the cause and willing to give 100% for Saints. He clearly enjoys playing for the club and it shows. By his own admission he was disappointed to be on the bench tonight, but did he sulk? No, he answered in the best way possible; by getting himself on the scoresheet. A model pro, and one can only hope he stays with us for the foreseeable future.

I could have told them that last summer. We should have played him from the beginning of the season and we wouldn't be where we are. At least we now seem to have ditched the ridiculous youth policy.

I think a lot of us agree with what you are saying, Saga will score goals as proved

Yep, agree.

But he will be out on loan this weekend.......:(

You could see he cared after we scored against Sheffield United last year but, at the time, many people on here wanted him out for not being as prolific a scorer as in his loan spell. Not everybody was disappointed when he was loaned out but I doubt too many would admit that now, they're too busy berating Lowe for not having him at the club.

Personally I think Lowe's an idiot for loaning him out but I would have had to argue to justify that opinion 6 months ago.

I said in summer before he left, that it was more important to keep Saga than John. People just don't seem to get that his work rate and defending from the front makes those around him look good even if he isn't scoring. Anyone else noticed that we've had 2 clean sheets in the 3 games when he's been on the pitch? It was the same story last season under Pearson when we didn't lose a game Saga started.

Hopefully story's like this on the OS mean he's staying. I do fear for Skacel however. Another experienced, quality pro, but he seems to have disappeared along with BWP.

I thought the whole conspiracy theory over his 'delayed international clearance' was that if he played for us, FIFA rules meant that he could not be loaned out again this season .. or at least not abroad which was the most likely destination for him.

So since he has played, surely he is not now likely to go this season?

As I've said before, this season's reality is bad enough without people spreading dismal rumours for the sake of it. If do you have a source to back up 'on loan this weekend ' then please give it. If you're just being miserable for no reason, then please stop.

K.

I agree, but lets see how he does over the rest of the season before we crown him the messiah.

Why is it that when a player has a good match he has to be proclaimed a messiah or legend, and when he has played a bad match he has to be sh*t*?

Because we are always right?

Was that aimed at me? or a generalization? :D

It wasn't him I was disappointed about at the time, it was loaning out Stern, Rasiak and Saga which was the proiblem. That made no sense.

You are indeed correct, you can only play for two clubs in one season so unless Saga moves to Sweden or some other summer competition he will have to finish the season with us.

Good news and Saga tends to score in runs when his confidence is up - which got damaged badly under Beerley. 10 in 10 again like 06/07 might just creep us out of the bottom 3.

You can't play for 3 clubs in 1 season, so I think you'll find that's incorrect.

You can if you're on loan though, as Nathan Dyer (playing for his third club this season indicates). I think the problem comes from loans abroad. Technically the player signs on a fixed term permanent deal, which counts as a change of club, before reverting back to the parent club afterwards. This would mean that although Saga can't be loaned abroad, as it would count as a third club, he could be loaned out in England.

Chances are though, if the club wanted to loan him, they wouldn't have played him themselves thereby closing the abroad avenue. Thankfully.

That only goes for short term loans. The loan to Sheffield Utd. was an emergency short term loan I think and I'm not sure what his situation with Swansea is now but the short term emergency thingy doesn't count for some reason. So yes, Saga could leave but only if its a short term emergency loan.

As Lawrie Mac used to say ..everyone needs a kick up the backside once in awhile, and perhaps exiling Saga to Denmark, cut our costs and made him a bit sharper (no pun intended).

Now that he's back ...he's all fired up as he was in his loan period to us.

As for Rasiak and John..they have to make up their own minds where their future is. Whether someone gets £10K a week, or £10K a day ..if they're not keen to play and are content to collect their wages on the bench every week, then we're better off without them, and they are better off with a side who they might like better.

He was on loan at Sheffield for three months and is currently on loan at Swansea until the end of the season. Neither are short term loans and he played for us this season as well. :smt102

Anyway, I think we're agreed that it's unlikely that Saganowski will leave, which is a good thing in my opinion.

Ok, then now I'm properly confused. In the Netherlands there is this player (Waterman) that has been loaned out to ADO by AZ. He's played for the AZ reserves and ADO this season and he wants to move again but he can't because of playing for the AZ reserves and ADO. Why should that be any different in England? Is it because its second tier football?

But if no-one wants them, we will have their wage bills to pay again, which will be rubbing salt into our wounds if we end up in League 1 and would probably have stayed up if they had been playing for us this season. Ouch.

I was not convinced that Saga coming back would make that much difference last season wasnt his best but I thought against Donny he showed power passion desire and a great work ethic I was surprised he didnt start last nite we could do with a few more showing his sense of urgency and commitment a great example to the younger players well done Saga

Made no sense if it was a choice. But I was under the impression there were was no choice. I imagine Barclays would rather they were all sold now.

Maybe, the loan-outs were a financial decision and not a footballing choice?

I'd certainly like to have kept one on staff in August...but I'm glad it's Saga who's come back....the other two seem to be nonentities in their new clubs.
