Done a lot wrong but he’s lamb to the slaughter though isn’t he. Thrown into the job when he was clearly far from ready for it, no leadership above him, useless owners, club in huge downward curve which seems like it hasn’t bottomed out yet, a poor back room team on the coaching side and a bunch of underperforming dickheads to manage most of which don’t seem to want to be here. Talk about set up to fail.

Also at 31, any brand new and inexperienced manager in any industry would have trouble with a core of employees still pining after a previous manager and causing trouble behind the scenes, a senior employee more interested in 🍽️ than doing his core minimum job, an interfering and micro-managing Group Director figure (where they shouldn’t be and undermining his actual line manager) added to a losing culture as bad as anything nationally.

That’s no excuse or mitigation for the dreadful decisions he is making, but it’s a very challenging cocktail for even an experienced and strong minded manager to handle.

Why the fuck did he take Fellows off yesterday?

He deserves the sack for that alone.  He’s been found out at this level and is a total fraud, just like the idiots running the club.

Solak is either furious, doesn’t give a fuck, or is a complete idiot.

A complete idiot for me. No question.

And its likely we have thrown away someone who probably is a promising coach and could well have played a major role for us in the future (ie a Thomas Frank/Keith Andrews continuity head coach in a future successful set up).

Instead he's just been rushed in to the top job in a panic and the only step he can ever take at Southampton Football Club now is the sack and gone. So in the bin by the summer.

Talk about breaking things.

When he gets sacked, is there any other club in the EFL that would give him the manager’s job? I’m struggling to think of any, says it all.

As @CB Fry says though, there’s talent there but thrown in way too early by idiots treating the football club like a Frankenstein laboratory.🧪

Solak is such an odd figure, almost peripheral. Essentially he is the money, Ankersen the supposed visionary. It does feel like a misguided oligarch funding the whims of indulged idiot offspring. Surely he must be aware of the complete disaster and its cause at this point.

This season we had a gilt edged opportunity to bounce straight back up with lessons learned, so he allows the brains trust that relegated us to appoint Will Still over the likes of Steve Cooper. Still sacked and another chance to save the season by appointing the likes of Carrick, OGS, Viera and allowing them to assess squad before crucial / brutal January window with new blood in week one. Gone now.

We were led to believe that Solak is an astute and responsive businessman, and up until this season Saints fans had cut him slack on this basis. However, right now you have to wonder whether he is careless, negligent or reckless or some sort of insulated simpleton. Only way i can see club fortunes changing is a driven brutal purge, and Solak is the only person capable of instigating this.

I feel sorry for Tonda. He's been promoted above his current ability. Thats not his fault.

He has taken over a group of players that has an underlying core of rotten apples who seem to dictate when we play well or not. Thats not his fault.

He has been handed a poison chalice of a club that is going backwards thanks to these idiots in charge. Thats not his fault.

However what IS his fault is the constant playing of three centre backs (presumably because the players more or less dictate it, what was his quote? something along the lines of the players feel more comfortable playing it.....WTF !!!)

His in game management shows exactly what he is, a vastly inexperienced manager trying to feel his way.....

The complete thing is a shit show but Tonda cant be held responsible for all of it.

He was hired by Sport Republic. Chances are he's not _that_ promising.

Whilst Coventry have done really well the league isn't great this season at all. You've got Millwall, Preston, Hull and Stoke all in and around the play offs. They've all got tiny budgets compared to us.

The difference is they've got players that care and that are being managed correctly. I also doubt they continuously wank over xG and a data spreadsheet.

When he's gone from here, count me surprised if he's ever a manager again at any level.

I expect one of the sports science guys checked the data from the vests players wear these days and told Eckert that Fellows should come off. That's how it seems to work these days. There's no argument or option to see if he recovers and gets his second wind - no, it's get him off immediately. Game has gone crazy.

This is what we do 'so well', Selles was another promising coach who we dumped into the lions den before his time. It's not just with managers and coaches but with players.

Bazunu, Edozie, Larios, Mara, Lavia - straight from kids football into first team PL side, like you say - lambs to the slaughter. Lavia was good, but his injury proneness does somewhat suggest he was given too much too soon at a high level.

When I look at support Tonda actually has around him - Ben Reeves, Ryan Flood, Ben Garner, Jeremy Newton I think WTF is that? We have an U21 coaching setup looking after the first team, and they think that's fine!

There are plenty of decisions and actions they have taken to demonstrate their complete incompetence but this is probably right up there as a yardstick for their stupidity. I can't imagine there is a worse set of coaches in the Championship and probably not in Div1 either. The sheer arrogance that the SR goons believe this group of coaches can do the job beggars belief.
