benjii Posted yesterday at 05:44 Posted yesterday at 05:44 Didn't he do well? There's a proper player there, but he can't seem to stay fit. Shame for the lad. 1

Football Special Posted yesterday at 06:23 Posted yesterday at 06:23 Definitely a good player, any news on his injury? Was hard to tell in the ground what was wrong with him, did they say on tv?

Was hard to tell in the ground what was wrong with him, did they say on tv? Looked like he pulled something around the 60 minute mark. He struggled on for another 15 mins or so, so if it was a pull it's probably going to be pretty tight for a week or so, I would say. Hopefully he's back for the playoffs. 1
VectisSaint Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Left leg, I think, calf or ankle, by the way he was acting. He was superb yesterday, it was probably a blessing in disguise that Manning was suspended, because Welington is a proper defender and that's what we needed yesterday. Since Welington got injured and Manning got back in the team he (Manning) has been great, but from an attacking perspective, his defensive capabilities have not often been stretched during that run. 2
so22saint Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Wellington is class and I think he's pushing Manning on (though also having a management team that is coaching Manning properly has helped). Hope it's a minor injury and he's left back for us in the Prem next year 1

Doubt it was ankle - looked more like a strain, maybe hamstring or calf.
Harry_SFC Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I'm surprised Welington didn't get more game time before yesterday. Coming back into such an intense game - now he could be injured again. 1
S-Clarke Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago He was excellent yesterday, defensively more so than attacking as expected. I do like his little 'relationship' down the left with Leo, but as others have said...he's so injury prone, he can't seem to catch a break with his fitness so he never gets a chance to build a head of steam. 1
Saint_clark Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago He is excellent but I think we need to be looking at replacing him as he's just too injury prone. 1

Or we could try and get him some specialist, external rehab and physio to help him identify what he's doing wrong to cause his body to break down so frequently, and develop a suitable training plan to mitigate it. I know such people exist, and from what I have heard there has been a reluctance on the club's part in recent times to employ their services.
Toadhall Saint Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Excellent yesterday - the timing of some of his tackles was outstanding. 1

If you'd read my post you might have realised that thinking it was a hamstring was plain daft. He was feeling his ankle, that's why I said 'ankle', he is also recovering from a non specific ankle injury, and he appeared to be indicating like 'its gone again' or 'same old problem'. Ankle problem doesn't mean a break, could be Achilles or just a sprain.
