Pamplemousse Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Glad to have played them when we did, and we play them again in December so before they get a chance to strengthen in January 2
suewhistle Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Don't worry, JWP will warn him.. On the other hand if you are naughtily trying to get a rumour in circulation I'm sure others here will help you.;-)
Pamplemousse Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I think they'll move for McKenna, that would be my bet. Unless he's holding out for a Premier League team.

Without Nuno he’s probably a starter at WHU and doesn’t come home. I’m glad Nuno cast him aside and he’s our player. 7

skintsaint Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ck62yvz046pjo RIP Didn't think the keeper did too much wrong; just a case of him jumping and getting the ball, and the striker not seeing/expecting him. https://www.facebook.com/reel/2074774376539684 1

Clubs a mess both off the pitch and on it. They aren’t suddenly turning into a winning machine whatever money they make and PR they get. On 21/07/2026 at 23:33, Fabrice29 said: That’s a far cry from walking the league. I’m happy to revisit this but they scream meltdown potential to me. Ownership is a mess with some serious allegations going on. Fans will be keen to jump on anyone’s back they can. Coach always give the vibe he’s doing everyone a favour despite bang average results. And they even have an ex player with friends in the media who will be waiting in the wings to jump in at the first sign of a bad result or two. Big reputation, big media focus, big money to be splashed but until they’ve proven they can actually handle that hype and spend money wisely I’m quite happy to oppose them. On 22/07/2026 at 14:14, Fabrice29 said: I’m not sure they have sorted their ownership and not convinced their squad is that good, aside from an obvious couple of stand outs. But my point is the idea they just turn everything around into a winning team and ‘walk it’ seems a long way away to me. Maybe they will, but not many do straight away after relegation do they? Recently anyway. Not without exceptional managers who go on to some of the biggest jobs in the world and Nuno isn’t that. They haven’t spent that money yet either. And yes, if they win games everything will be rosey but if they don’t then I think it turns quickly. We’ll see I guess. Textbook.

suewhistle Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago No, that sounds more like 'nah nah nah nananah'. Or is that JWP being mischievous?

So needs to hit the ground running otherwise can see it getting a lot more toxic there which would be a shame.
Saint86 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Interesting appointment with respect to how that will turn out. The locals won't be happy with his football. Could have an interesting impact on Middlesbrough - he'll have the international break and then a run of games culminating in boro at home - works out as about 7 matches. I wonder what state they'll be in then - Boro will struggle vs teams that can defend well and are dangerous on the attack. Not the nicest run of games for Boro when they get back from the international break either: Bristol City won't even play football with Boro, they'll just sit there and go long, by pass the midfield, and get at their defence (which is very porous). Long away day as well. Then a run of 4 games that includes Swansea (who they should beat lets be honest), then us, then the west ham game. If they drop points there and we close the gap, will their fanbase and dressing room feel the heat from last season's bottling? Edited 2 hours ago by Saint86

Bar a long term injury to Lankshear, Boro are going to finish in the top 2 this season. There’s no question about that. 1

If they beat us at St Marys, I think they'll go on to easily win the league. Will be better to see them in the Premier League (with us) instead of West Ham and Wolves again. Although I suspect West Ham will go up anyway whether through the play offs or automatically.

Remember they got off to a great start last season too, think they were comfortably in the top 2 behind Cov at Christmas? Then pretty much imploded in the run in when the pressure levels went up. I'm still unconvinced by their manager, thought he cracked last year and could see that happening again if and when they have a dodgy spell. Also, as you state, they are very reliant on Lankshear for goals, more so than us with Larin, so even a short spell out for him could cause them to stutter. Still early days. 1
Midfield_General Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) They look good at the minute but every team has runs of good and bad form. Pressure can do funny things too when you get up the business end of the season. Hopefully they'll choke spectacularly again and drop out of the autos on the last day of the season, so we can play them in the play-off final, stamp on their dreams yet again and condemn them to an eternity in the Championship cwying and cwying about how it simply isn't fair. Not sure who you meant as the long away day, but Middlesbrough are at home to Bristol City.
