Assuming this is going to be an opportunity to rotate heavily and give squad players match minutes.

We may have to start Wood/Downes due to lack of options though.

I don't see it as idiotic.  Everything has gone up with inflation and i cant ever remember footie tickets being less than £25. Even for cup games.

Struggling to find out whether this is actually on Sky or not. Some places list it as being on Sky+ but I can’t see any mention of it on the actual Sky website. Anyone seen anything?

Parents can then afford to take their Kids to their first match and possibly becoming lifetime supporters.

More food , drinks, shop merchandise sold.

Totally agree. Club are lucky that they have sold as many as they have. Would have been nice if they had used this game to acknowledge the shit show from last season.

Based on the press conference (and concerns over minutes), it sounds like we'll see a very rotated side for this one.

Mubama over Larin.

Wellington over Manning.

Dobbin over Azaz.

Suspect Quarshie may get some minutes over Wood (if not starting then second half sub).

Fancy Romeo and Bragg to get starts as well.

And ofc, Long in goal over Peretz.

Don't get me wrong, we have a good squad and the way Eckert sets his team up and coaches the players we at least know that they'll know their jobs and play together well, but i fear west ham may go with a very strong side to try and recover some momentum.

Personally i would want the win in this - builds are confidence up ahead of Millwall, and potentially upsets the start of West Ham's season just a little bit more.

Biggest crowd for a first round game. Excellent atmosphere. 9,000 away fans. That's how to do it. We should have given West Ham the usual away allocation plus as much of the Chapel as they wanted and done a deal for the home fans.

Our greedy bastards are forgetting a full house also sells more drinks (a couple of pints is over a tenner for a start), probably more merchandise and gets kids watching the club. My first Saints game was versus Derby (5-0 in the League Cup 1974?) and I've looked back ever since!

Plus the Kingsland closed .... the stand with the largest number of ST holders I believe. That tipped the balance for me.

Very good point,  I think they do that due to the tv cameras being in the Kingsland so hope the crowd looks better for the tv audience who can't see the 6000 empty seats along the perimeter

I'm glad I didn't get a ticket as my kitchen delivery arrives tomorrow although still no timings available.

To those who think the pricing is acceptable for this match how much would you be prepared to pay?

I could afford it, certainly, but appreciate a lot of people would have difficulty, particularly if they have family, rent or mortgages etc. Plus all the other factors helpfully listed by Football Special and Ken Tone above. But I don't like being taken for granted, and if enough of us send the same signal we won't be.

Anything under £30 seems acceptable to me. However, I think they should have gone for £15 personally.

Problem is, everything has gone up way beyond inflation, (supply shortages, price gouging etc) making sporting and entertainment tickets more of a discretionary spending item (for many) than ever before.

On the pitch, I wonder whether the two WPs will feature for WH.    Both likely to receive a good reception as popular Saints players.    KWP, one of my  all time favourite Saints.

And I get that, but same can be said for a business.  Especially one who’s having to sell its best players to stay in line with financial fair play nonsense. 
 

Fine, don’t attend at £22.50 but don’t moan that much, it’s not that different from £15 all things being equal.  People want something for nothing from football clubs, reality is they rarely get that.

But for many it's £27 including the ticket tax. As a member we had an 'exclusive window' of one day early on to buy at £22.50 (+ £2) but these early round cup games often attract casual fans taking kids who cop the full-fat price.

If I'd decided to take a couple of grandkids to this one it would have cost me £56 and them another £70 for the other two home games a few days either side of this fixture. You can see why there's an unofficial boycott for this.

I'd have paid £15.

But when an FA Cup QF was £25 there was no chance I was paying similar for a 2nd round league cup tie.

A comparable fixture is Leicester in the FA Cup 4th round which was a tenner with no booking fee. Don't see how they can justify this being almost 150% more than that.

Interested to see what Tonda does. He could make it a showcase window and put out Ramsdale, Archer, BBD, Edozie and whoever else we might want to flog in the next week. I wouldn't want to see Downes put can understand he might be desparate to play. There are certain players that should be rested (Larin, Scienza) and there are others that could be given a full game (Mubama, Dobbin).

Probably because for Leicester in the cup we attracted 16000 fans... if we sold out they may have done it again. 

Who is to blame?  Already sold 17000 or tonight.

Worked it out from official site showing tickets remaining in each block . I assumed that the Kingsland holds approx 10k and tickets remaining total 7087. max capacity 32 384- 17087 =15297.

Some of Kingsland is away end now so probably bit less than 10k.

Reckon the gate will be just under 17k. Definitely won't be 20k.
