Most Bournemouth fans I've ever met were older Saints fans who lived down there - I'm sure now they're in the Premier League (and Europe!) they have attracted a new band of bantz loving helmets wearing black with shit haircuts.

Of course mate

There were a few of your shirts at Branksome station in the 80's

Let us know when you make Europe again....

I'm Bournemouth born (1974) and bred. I started supporting Saints after their successful 83/84 season. No doubt seeing coveraged on South Today. A couple of other school friends supported Saints but the majority were Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs. I don't remember 1 being a Bournemouth fan. It wasn't until Bournemouth became a bit more successful and were promoted into the old Div 2 that friends that had supported Liverpool etc now started supporting their home team.

Imagine spending your time waiting for someone to post about Bournemouth on another team's fan forum. You've just won your first ever European game – is this how you celebrate?

I grew up in Warsash/Locks Heath, was at secondary school in the early 2000s and it was the exact same thing when Pompey got promoted. All of a sudden the United/Liverpool/Chelsea fans were all die hard Pompey and always had been.

Success during a certain era will always grow a fan base and I suppose normally it’s better for local sides to be supported over the traditional glory teams, but Bournemouth fans are almost as insufferable as those lot down the road

Boscombe’s 127 year history:

Honours: none.

Number of major cup finals reached: none

Number of European games played: one, this week

And yet you seem so proud, it’s sweet really

Same as Reading. I worked in Reading back in 2009-13, the season they pipped us to the title. Barely spoke to a Reading fan for the first year or so but then when they were top of the championship suddenly everyone that had been Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs were Reading fans. They were everywhere and took great delight in giving me heaps of shit when they beat us 3-1 at St Marys. After lots of excitement about being able to get Premier league season tickets for about 300 quid they all soon stopped talking about Reading again and went back to supporting their old teams

You've posted 3 times in 13 and a half years. Do you just hang about here desperately scouring the site for Bournemouth mentions, or are you just thing to make PB's point for him 🤣😆

Seriously fecking weird that you're on here when you big brother team aren't even playing you, cute that you care I guess.

They must have been ignoring him on the Poole Town forums.

Cheers buddy, bloody hell you're right - I've been on here longer than you 🤣

Every now and then I pop in to see how you're doing, come on if I was a WUM I would have been posting more often than that after recent events but no just picked up on a post.

Best of luck, we're enjoying it- good for South coast footie no? (not that you care of course 😉) Not sure if we have the strength in depth for a Euro campaign mind.

100%. I live just outside Bournemouth and every single one of their fans who I know used to support one of the big clubs. Fair play to Bournemouth, but gravity always wins eventually.

I was watching something in passing the other week with Bournemouth fans being asked about their percieved ‘rivalries’ - must have been something in the run up to their Euro debut against the Spanish giants Real Socio. Two of the Cherries ultras stated that their historical rivals were ‘Leeds United.’ I hope somebody tells Leeds so that can give the town a makeover again, it’s overdue to be honest.

It is funny how some Bournemouth fans insist there's a rivalry. I like seeing them doing so well. My best friend at 6th form was a Bournemouth fan, went with him to Dean Court a few times. Only have good memories of them.

Sorry, but you forgot Third Division Champions, our two to your one. We've also won the Hampshire Senior Cup 17 times your 4 😎

I am pleased for Bournemouth's success, I have no quarrel with them, its a nice story. Before you start your "who are yer" chant though I would point out that we were the ones that filled buckets with cash outside the Dell because we did not want Bournemouth to go out of business. I think there was even a friendly organised to raise further funds and we also paid up what we owed for goal keeper Neil Moss early to help you out....

You did mate, I was there so fair play, that was grass roots football in the day. None of us would wish any team to go out of business (I guess you have one exception) and I'm sure it would have been reciprocated. The only issue some might have is how its developed over the years into 'you saved our club'..but yes it was a nice gesture. How long you want to keep reminding us is probably up for debate as well mind 😉.

I think the irony probably flew right over your head there 🤣...we won it at Hull away in front of about 5k, hardly the stuff of legends.

Anyway I've no idea what happened here, your admin picked up one innocuous post and made a thread out of it. Hard luck today btw, watched a stream, you deserved more than that.

We didn't save your club but we helped. I think it is fair to remind somebody who comes onto a Saints Forum to taunt the supporters, that some of us and the club helped you out when you needed it.
