Don't think we want to sign another "champ" standard striker to then get Archer back in the summer. Unless we can find a top ST who might be able to make the step up in the prem. I'd be sending Mubama back, offers bugger all. Nmecha has been linked. Evan Ferguson? Jebbison was linked in the summer. Madjo? I think Ferguson is still out with a long term injury.

They have no back-up to replace him when injured so I'm pretty sure they'll be seeing what is available in January. Missing again today too... 1

jarhead5 Posted yesterday at 21:37 Posted yesterday at 21:37 Looking at target forwards: Victor Boniface - Bayer Leverkusen - Transfer market has him at 5m euros. Mostly unused from the bench. Ragnar Ache - FC Koln - Transfer market has him at 9m euros. Rotational player. Lukas Nmecha - Leeds - Transfer market has him at 10m euros. Mostly coming on from the bench. Andrej Ilic - Union Berlin - Transfer market has him at 9m euros. Zero minutes this season. I'm sure it will be a loan, but get it done! 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 21:44 Posted yesterday at 21:44 A CB. A CM. A ST. A wide player with pace. Dreamy, but maybe we’ll get one of these. 1

Saint NL Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Not sure if this is the right place for it, but this site has listed each Championship team by wages spent. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/all-efl-championship-clubs-ranked-spend-on-wages-every-week/ It reckons we are paying £816k per week in wages, with Ramsdale earning a fair wedge of that. Surely it's priority number 1 to get those wages off the books.

We tried signing that Norwegian CB in the summer for £8mill before getting Abbott on loan so there must be money there. Whatever happens though I’m sure in true Sport Republic style despite urgently needing another CF we won’t do anything about it till the end of the window.

Soton7 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago The January transfer window is so important. We were so shrewd last time, the likes of Larin, Peretez and Bree coming in kickstarted our great run. Bringing in a striker has to be a priority. This will lift the squad, give us a boost and take us to the next level. It will ease the pressure on Larin too. I like Dobbin and I am sure he will come good (in the right position). But we also need to reconsider bringing Archer back as he made some great contributions off the bench last season. It might be harsh on Mubama with his limited game time but at this point, even Russel fucking Brand would be more effective upfront, and he’s been locked up since Thursday!

Surely it's priority number 1 to get those wages off the books. His non appearance in squads is to minimise the bonuses on top of that. Yeah, no doubt all parties keen for a solution on that one. I thought West Ham would be above us. They've had a conveyor belt of players that I thought were high earners. I thought that would be more wasteful, and stack up. Quite the level bump from the pack to the wages of Burnley, West Ham, Wolves and ourselves.

Okay our current second choice right back with nearly 100 premier league appearances and an international cap isn’t good enough for you? Nor is a highly rated young player on loan from the premier league? So I’ll ask again what level of player are you wanting to a championship club to have in that position? 6

jarhead5 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) If we do look at rightback options in January (we won't): Darnell Furlong (Ipswich) isn't getting any minutes in the PL. Eckert likes tall(ish) defenders. He is 6 foot tall. Listed at 2.5m euros, but i'm sure we would only want a loan. Kesler-Haydan (Coventry) has returning from injury. But hasn't made it off the bench yet. Lampard might let him go out on loan. But we won't be offering a starting spot. Colby Donovan (Celtic) Is real up and coming rightback! He starts most matches and is only20 years old. He is right at 6 foot tall (another box ticked). Listed at 3m euros, but i would think it would take more. We have more pressing needs, so we won't go for him. But one to watch in the summer (PL)? All three are similar profiles to Bree. No idea if Eckert/Spors wants this type of rightback in the future. Edited 1 hour ago by jarhead5 summary update
jarhead5 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago IMO we need: ST rotation or mid 20 year old to slowly take the majority of playing time in the semi near future. CB Starter. We don't need numbers here. Only a ready starter. If we see Edozie and/or Fellows leave (sell or loan) we replace. If we can sell Roerslev, we might look at a loan from a PL team. I can't see Scienza or Jander leaving in January. But i fear they won't replace either of them.. Downes, JWP, and Bragg will look like a strong enough group. With the amount spent on Dobbin, i can see the club use the ole shoehorn for Dobbin in LW. "It worked in PNE last year."
