Concert this year?

This time last year Bon Jovi had been announced and tickets had been on sale for ages. Are we not having a gig this year? Surely it must be a good money spinner for the club during the summer months when the ground is unused?

I was told that Lowe was going to have a beetroot growers convention his year in honour of his red cheeks.

Classic FM have booked a date for the performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem.

Inspired suggestion ESB, although I would think that

would be more appropriate (forward to 29 secs if impatient). Actuaklly, this piece is called "entranace of the gladiators". Ironically, we were duped into expecting a team of young gladiators, only to find that they were just a bunch of kids being sent to the lions to feast upon. Edited by hamster

I heard Lowe had booked the remaining members of monty python to sing "always look on the bright side of life!" after the final game of the season, he thought we'd appreciate it apparently.

Wouldn't it be nice to see a row of crosses in SMS pitch with all the main protagonists on.

Wite Wads Who do want to save? Wogger, Woderick or Wupert

No we want to save Bwian.

Lowe saying I'm Brian & so's my wife

Think you'd get a full house for that :D

Perhaps Lowe is planning on singing this at his last game before the administrators take over....?

And now, the end is near;

And so I face the final curtain.

My friend, Ill say it clear,

Ill state my case, of which Im certain.

Ive lived a life thats full.

Ive traveled each and evry highway;

And more, much more than this,

I did it my way.

Regrets, Ive had a few;

But then again, too few to mention.

I did what I had to do

And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;

Each careful step along the byway,

But more, much more than this,

I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew

When I bit off more than I could chew.

But through it all, when there was doubt,

I ate it up and spit it out.

I faced it all and I stood tall;

And did it my way.

Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried.

Ive had my fill; my share of losing.

And now, as tears subside,

I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;

And may I say - not in a shy way,

No, oh no not me,

I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?

If not himself, then he has naught.

To say the things he truly feels;

And not the words of one who kneels.

The record shows I took the blows -

And did it my way!

:D 29 seconds is also when I realised that the event is sponsored by McDonalds. Well, the arches in the background suggest so!

Maybe Pewka pies are also on their way out?

I heard it's going to be Status Quo.

They've even come up with a play list:-

To get 'em going:-

Electric Arena

All Stand Up

Win Or Lose

Then to give it local flavour, (with a nod in RL's direction):-

One Man Band

Face Without Soul

With a nod towards the players:-

Money Money

Gravy Train

No Contract

Run To Mummy

Then they get topical:-

Safety Dance

I Can Hear The Grass Grow

Is There a Better Way (Mark Wotte joins for the vocals)

Drifting Away

Roll Over Lay Down

Point Of No Return

Going Down Tonight

Down Down

Encore -The fans will be asked to join in with :-

Enough is Enough

Backwater

Apparently Rupert has refused to allow:- Sorry

But is insisting on:- The Future's So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades)

With all due respect are The Specials likely to fill a 32k stadium?

Bit like Saints then :(

Saw the Specials at Chippenham Olympiad in 2005 (concert for the Tsunami), not sure they would draw more than a few hundred (not a Specials fan, but enjoyed the night). Same night tickets for Chelski v Saints raised £3000 in a charity auction, those were the days :(

Maybe we could get Coldplay to perform for free, I'm sure Will Champion would be up for it.

We`ve already got The Fun Boy Three there (MW, RL and AC).

Oh, go on then, I'll take the honours again on this one....

So, the lunatics have taken over the asylum then? Now you're really saying something. I've always said it ain't what you do it's the way that you do it.

One thing's for sure, the more I see the less I believe.

Coldplay.

Teh drummer can then buy the club while he's here.

He also said in the Echo back in 2000 that if coldplay become the worlds biggest band he'd buy Saints.

I also read on the Echo's Southampton rich list the Will Champion (coldplays drummer) is worth £25 million. That was back in 2007. They have released a record breaking album, and a massive world tour since then, so expect the figure to be a lot more.

Time to hold him to his word more like. Have just read several articles describing Will Champion as an "avid Saints fan"....our saviour has been right under our (half bitten) noses all along.

Come on Will...time to put your money where your mouth is....
