THAT Save

Kelvin was amazing today. Saw the saves at the Chapel end close up - REALLY hope that they show the Northam ones on the Championship tomorrow. Chance would be a fine thing, but really....

Oh yeah, so why do the photos of him in the programme get worse and worse and worse. In today's he looks like a smack addict. I guess they're trying to make him look hard, but puh-lease, Mr Editor, you're just making him look demented.

Can't believe some on here! Where were you looking?

Davis' save was top draw and had it not been for him today, we'd all be typing away in frustration at not getting that much needed win.

Today's result gives us a fighting chance. Lets hope we can get something from Ipswich and keep the momentum going.

It was an awesome save from where I was sitting (Itchen South). To call it average means either a) you are joking b) you are blind c) you are baiting or d) you are mental. Take your pick.

Oh, and to say you've seen better doesn't make it average. It simply means it wasn't the best save in the world ever.

I hope you're Joking OBS.

Hopefully we do get to see it again cos it often looks very different than in real time !

Who knows, you might well be right but at that moment I thought it was sublime !!

Any which way, he kept it out and that's the main thing, 3 points and moving on up !

COYS.

Well if YOU think it was average we'll all have to agree andl bow to your seniority. By the way, did you forget to take your anti-depressant today?

Both Radios Hampshire and Solent were eulogising about it, making comparisons with the Bank's save from Pele. I wasn't at the game, but hope that it will be shown somewhere as it appears to have given us an extra two points.

In all my time watching Saints, the best save I ever saw was by Niemi shortly after he arrived. The ball seemed to be heading to the top left corner and he was in the centre of the goal. Everybody thought that it was a certain goal and there were gasps when he leapt towards it and somehow miraculously tipped it round the post. I had never seen such athleticism from a goalkeeper before. This Davis save appears to be at least as good if not better, judging by all the fuss about it.

McCormack headed the ball down. It was very close to Davis (down towards his feet), giving him very little reaction time. Being so close it was not one of those "showy stops" where he could spring and push the ball away full length. To get down, adjust and push the ball out past the post from the middle of the goal was simply fantastic.

I probably have seen better, but not many. However, it was fully deserving of the standing ovation and spurred players and fans on alike to put in a great shift.

I therefore think it was more what the save symbollised as much as owt else.

Then again, he has been regressing of late, hasn't he ;-)

What was also amazing, as if the save wasnt enough, was that in the next move upfield we passed it around in a series of one touch moves that ended up with Euell having a blast from about 30 yds. Unfortunately it was straight at the keeper; if it had gone in it would have been a goal of the season contender.

Straight after the Kelv save, when everyone around me was still giving him a standing ovation, it was a jaw dropping minute or so of football

Sounds awesome, hope they show it on the Championship.

However, I remember Bialkowski making a save when we trashed Wolves 6-0 away which I thought was unbelievable, did anyone else see it / have a video?

But apart from the infinite number of wonderful Niemi saves does anyone have the clip of that Blayney one that won save of the season?

I was sat right behind it and anyone who says it wasn't the save of the season, and quite possibly KDs career, either knows f uck all about goalkeeping or is blind!

He changed direction, got his hand virtually to the ground, the ball was behind him, he managed not only to stop the ball but to get enough on it to flick it to safety. He had absolutley no right to get anywhere near that ball. Incredible.

I remember a Paul Jones save from a Teddy Sheringham 3 yard whack in at Old Trafford in the 3-3 Taibi draw, which was a pretty damn special effort. No one could believe that he had kept it out.

Unfortunately the bloody linesman was standing in front of me on Kelvin's save today, I saw the header, then nothing and then James helping it away round the post.
