Shame, worked for them for a bit, but they were always a bit "fur coat, no knickers" - triumph of image over substance. They posted a 3.8m loss for the first 6 months this year which should have set a few questions, although for a half billion turnover plc, on the face of it i suppose it's not too much of a problem. There must be a big pile of ****e in their accounts that has been covered up.

When studying or reading about History it is important to view events in the context of the time they happened.

We don't need to up the capacity anytime soon. Ironically enough, ticket sales (and numbers) are more important now to the club than if we were a PL club. We get magic crowds for a League One club, we'll get really good crowd figures for a Championship club and average for a PL club, which is when TV money makes up the vast majority of any PL clubs finances. SMS is great for the moment.

It's just a phase, they'll get over it soon.

That's what i heard too! I think Farnrise were appointed to carry out some enabling works for the scheme, which i understand were done, although i cannot say for sure. I cannot say whether they have been paid for these works either.
-
Well, any JCT standard form can be heavily amended to whatever the client wants and agrees with the contractor. The original contractor was Farnrise http://www.farnrise.co.uk/news.html - (decent enough company from what i hear) check out about halfway down news for Dec 09 (they also sponsored the pompey fa cup game), but quite why the works haven't gone ahead, i don't know.

OK then, if he's such a ****** would you want him to be associated with Saints in the first place? Secondly, how do you know if he has "disregarded" playing for us? Has he ever answered a question along the lines of "I'd rather not associate myself with that club?" I bet he hasn't! And even if he had, why should anyone give a flying f**k?
-
I guess one reason why he doesn't "mention us" is because we have a bunch of precious fans who get upset at ex-players not talking about playing for us? FFS get a grip, it's like listening to some Neurotic complaining about why their ex girlfriend doesn't talk to them anymore.

Once again, the OP probably doesn't want you to state the ******* obvious.

And me. Terrific butchers and great service too. You can reserve online for Christmas to avoid the large queues that form the week before.

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)
Special K replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
Of course private sector companies operate to make a profit, they have to in order to survive. What ****es me off is the fact that profit is seen by some as dirty and immoral. This is incomprehensible, especially if those that complain work in the public sector, if only for the fact the big pension agreements they have would not be available if the private sector were not making money. I also spent time working for local authorities and saw both excellent, proactive work and profligacy on a major scale (in terms of both time and money). But i do think that on the whole private sector employees work harder and longer than public sector workers (essential service employees aside - who do marvellous work). Whether they work better is open to debate, but in my time in local government a department was set up to monitor how many rings a phone would make before being answered. The "standard" was set at 5 and all department managers had to devote over 10 hours a week to monitoring that the staff were complying with this edict (issued by a despotic CE through an expensive "working group" of brown nosers). I know who gets my vote. -

Oh dear. If this is the attitude of public sector workers generally, then please don't bother applying for any jobs in the private sector (when you have lost yours) as you wouldn't last 5 minutes. -
Business Link is also very good for advice. http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/home

Assuming they priced and agreed to provide weedkilling and sealing works, then it sounds like a simple defective workmanship issue. Firstly establish that you have a dispute (in writing if not already done). Get another price for remedial works. Give them a written time frame to carry out the remedial works (7 days usually enough). Record the time you have spent trying to get in contact with them. If they have not responded in this time and corrected the works, then pursue them through the small claims court for costs you will incur/have incurred for putting right their defective work. Check if they belong to any trade associations and threaten to sound off to them. If they are on check-a-trade, then give them a poor review!

Other posters have already given answers on company set up. If you are considering employing people, then the best advice is to employ the services of an employment lawyer as employment law can be a minefield.
-
Depends on the exact problem and the amounts involved. You could try adjudication, DR or ultimately through the small claims court. Can you be a bit more specific on the exact problem?

Wilde's Business has been wound up and liquidated by HMRC

It's a shame as they weren't a bad M&E subbie. I think they went into a CVA with their creditors a few years back. Some good lads worked for them, hopefully they managed to get themselves sorted out. -
Regularly. Excellent mini bus service to SMS when the ground first opened too!! Best days were when we were at the Dell though. Quality drinking hole.

I think it should be more inclusive, What about the Music Industry Night (for) General Excellence?

I thought it was going to be another thread about the spending review.

Things you had achieved by the time you were 25....?

Pretty much sweet FA as i spent my formative years spoffing time away on getting lashed and laid. I did get an average degree from an average Uni, spent some time travelling around, had 3 jobs, met a load of good people but other than that, not a great deal. -
And risk finding themselves in the midst of complex and costly legal wrangles which benefit no-one but m'learned friends? I don't think so. The real issue is why we are in this place to start with. Ineptitude over the last 13 years being the biggest cause. The new carriers will be able to carry french and american planes, but not british ones as Labour signed contracts that meant the delivery of new planes would not arrive at the same time as the ships. FFS, how stupid can you get?!?!
