  1. I'm taking no chances with this so I'm going to boo him from the off, on Sunday. After all, maybe he's been holding us back, like Nigel Pearson did to Leicester.
  2. I can't see it happening but it would be interesting to see whether he turned out to be more of a Kevin Keegan for us or more of a Mark Hughes...
  3. Congratulations Leicester. Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Wasn't watching the Spurs v Chelsea game but seen lots of stuff about the bad behaviour of the Spurs players at the end. What's was that all about?
  4. Rickie Lambert, he wants to come home! But does Koeman have room for sentimentally?
  5. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14464729.Pelle_dropped_for_lack_of__intensity__in_training/ A lack of intensity in training according to Ronnie...
  6. From the training gallery in the OS, looks like Charlie Austin may be fit again. Hopefully City will have one eye on the CL 2nd leg not us. They can trust Arsenal enough to mess up to allow us a win!
  7. A major factor in Leicester's success this season has been down to the extra mobility Kante has brought to their midfield. Drinkwatwr has improved, certainly, but Kante's unbelievable energy is like them having an extra man at times. Plus he can really play too.
  8. I saw Ronald said Austin was out again tomorrow but did he give a sense of whether we will see him again this season? I thought he said it'd be 1 week, last week?
  9. A good win which I didn't think would be in doubt once we got the early goal. One of those wins where you got the sense we could've kicked on and dished out a thrashing but lost our way with the second half subs. Newcastle looked like a side accepting of their fate until Townsend scored and, even then, didn't really put us any consistent pressure. They do have some decent players in that side but the defence is woeful. Whilst relegation is devastating for a club's fans (& on occasion bank balance!), I do wonder whether the better players (or those with over inflated egos) see it as a stepping stone to a move elsewhere with a signing on fee pay day.
  10. Still think he'll come good for us. Obviously, this wasn't the start he was hoping for, especially after that goal against United on his debut, and we may need to accept it'll be next season before we see the real Charlie Austin.
  11. In the words of the veritable Adam Blackmore: #saintsfc striker Charlie Austin did NOT get recurrence of hamstring injury warming up BUT did pick up a knock on knee
  12. Did Ronald say whether it was a severe injury or too early to tell?
  13. Still not seen him in a Saints shirt. Bizarrely, always injured when we go. Trying not to take it personally...
  14. Didn't see Austin warming up before game (although I didn't arrive til 2.45), nor during 1st half when Long went down & not now at half time. Injured during the early part of the warm up, maybe? Don't sit near enough to the bench to see if he's there...
  15. Hopefully take out today's frustrations on a relegation threatened Toon next week. Would go for an attacking line up fir a game we both need to win: Forster Cedric Fonte Van Dijk Bertrand Clasie Wanyama Davis Long Pellè Mane Stekelenburg Martina Yoshida Romeu JWP Rodriguez Austin
  16. Great day out. The only time I've been there too see us win a cup at Wembley so how could it not be???
  17. Wasn't that Marcus Bent? At least hate the right person!
  18. Adrian Heath, Garry Birtles & Scot Gemmill. The latter 2 for the goals they scored for Forest to beat us in Cup finals.
  19. In recent seasons, we've seen these 3 centre backs excel alongside Jose but, of the 3, would you prefer to have at the back, right now? I'd planned to ask this after today's game anyway but it seems all the more pertinent after VvD's performance & goal today. Not interested in how acrimonious departures were; purely who you feel would suit us best. For me, at the start of the season, it would've been Toby, easily, but now I'm starting to think Virgil may be even better.
  20. Listen Ron, results are fine but you ain't a proper manager in this league until you're on camera leaning out yer car window on deadline day givin' an exclusive...
  21. Long aside, our forwards are way off form. Would it really hurt to give Juanmi a start alongside Long while Austin is out, to see if he really is too slight to deal with the Prem? The only true way to find out will be to give him game time and not just a few minutes here and there, off the bench. Pelle, Mane and Tadic haven't contributed too much in recent weeks, despite our recent run of form before this week, so he could at least offer a bit of freshness. I'd go for: GK - Forster RB - Cedric CD - Fonte CD - Van Dijk LB - Bertrand CM - Clasie CM - Romeu RM - S Davis AM - Juanmi LM - Tadic CF - Long Subs: Stekelenburg; Targett; Yoshida; JWP; Mane; Jay Rod; Pelle
  22. The good news just keeps on coming, this evening!
  23. Karma's a b1tch. Lolz.
  24. I think the only change which needs to be made is the final one. Limiting the Champions League qualification to 3 places & offering the 4th place to the Cup winners ought to focus attention for larger sides (particularly those flailing in the league like Chelsea are this year). There's also an argument that the Cup winners have actually won something unlike the 2nd, 3rd & 4th place "champions" currently. Hell, I'd go all in and give the 3rd place spot to the League Cup winners to boost that competition too!
  25. Mark Dennis had a few acceptable red cards. At least, no-one was going to argue with them...
