i don't get that. If it was an immediate permanent deal, maybe. But as loan,surely he continues being paid what his current contract says, and the only doubt is whether Juventus pay it all, or we have to top it up?

The Telegraph report doesn't make clear whether those Italian clubs want to buy him or take him on loan. Can't see why on earth we'd lend him to West Ham,or any other English club, but a loan to Italy, if all his wage is covered ... maybe. As I said in my other post, it depends on the attitude of the other Saints players. We do need to consider a replacement if he goes though. Gallagher may be promising, but surely it's too early to have to rely on him much? PS .. how is Mayuka getting on ?

This ^ -- assuming you do mean he hasn't quite yet adjusted to the pace of the PL, as opposed to him not having enough pace, which he has. But the over-riding facotr is how the rest of the team feel about him, however good he may or may not be.

Weren't we told at one point that over 3000 had pledged ? Turns put it was only 2600. Still, pretty close by Pompey maths. Surely any extra money the trust gets now could only increase their shareholding if they use it to buy shares back from the 'presidents' ? Not much incentive for the 'lost' 275 to pay up is it?

But it that's the thing. They've been fed the propaganda from Factless Allen and his like for so long about being 'a massive club' with players 'desperate to play in front of such passionate fans' ,etc. many of them actually do believe that.

It's one thing to play yoshida or Hoiveld , but both together is pushing our luck.

For me the cup was about little clubs playing ,and occasionally beating top clubs. That is only exciting when you are one of the little clubs, not one of the top clubs getting humiliated -- and when the top clubs field players you've actually heard of. Now that we are the potential fall guys and premier league clubs play their reserves, the cup is a shadow of its former self, at least until the later rounds when even the big clubs start to take it seriously.

I noticed at the Chelsea game that Adam still went to the ref several times, as he often does, but then usually he is captain. Wonder if he remembered that he wasn't in the last 2 games. Clattenburg has some 'history' doesn't he?

it wasn't that he got beaten at the near post in the normal sense. Their striker fooled him into diving the wrong way. Thought Kelvin had a cracking game today. Boruc is clearly the better keeper long term ,but KD didn't let us down in any way.

As others have pointed out, that attendance figure will include all ST holders, whther they went or not, and they sold a lot of STs , on the crest of the propaganda wave of becoming the bestest fan-owned club in the universe. NEXT season's attendance figures will be the real test, once L2 reality has sunk in.
