Due to a combination of factors of a lack of players wanting to join us (partly due to uncertainty about who the manager would be), Saints not wanting to be fleeced by selling clubs knowing we have cash, and Saints being unwilling to commit to lengthy expensive contracts given our likely relegation. It will be two or three loan signings at most. To expect any more than this is highly unrealistic.

Agreed. Most players have never been regular match-attending fans, mainly as they have been playing 3 or 4 games a week from a fairly young age, so they can't relate to what fans go through to go to games (including the whole charade of trying to get tickets in the first place...). I think that many players think of fans in a similar way to how they view the press, ie a necessary evil.

I booed. And was utterly bemused by those who clapped them off. Though McQueen deserved applause. Ironic that he was the one apologising to the fans in the interview after the game.
