  1. It's a difficult one; Swindon I'm sure will have raised their game given that they had a crowd almost double their average attendance due mainly to a big away following. I could imagine if I'd scouted them on a couple of other games (particularly their 5-0 defeat at Gillingham) I'd have given Pardew duff info.
  2. There was a real gutbucket in the back row of our terrace in a grey Saints top, who spent the whole match berating our fans for not singing enough and not matching the vocal support of the Swindon fans. Easier for them when they have a roof and a team that actually moves so as to encourage them to give vocal support. Anyway, would be interested to see if the guy is a poster on here. I was quite surprised he didn't get a slap; not everybody is going to sing for 90 minutes, we just don't have that type of fanbase, accept it and enjoy the game FFS. My highlight of the night was the DISCO-type SUBSTITUTION demands in the second-half.
  3. The comment about not knowing about the opposition is rather odd. There are loads of out of work ex-managers who I'm sure would go and watch a game for petrol money plus a few quid. Pardew must have loads of mates he could get to go and see games (Kevin Dillon?). It doesn't need to be somebody actually employed by the club, FFS he could have given me a hundred quid and I'd have gone and watched Swindon on Saturday and reported back that they're not as good as Millwall or Huddersfield.
  4. I'll be surprised if we don't sell out the whole end behind the goal.
  5. Listening to Pardew interviewed on Solent after the game, I thought he sounded pretty keen to keep Rasiak.
  6. Saints 0 Millwall 2
  7. Rang up today and the ticket office told me it was sold out. I presume we will get more tickets?
  8. Did they give you specific seat numbers or is it unreserved seating, would you know?
  9. The "good in the air" bit will be pretty vital in this league.
  10. How can Charlton afford Dailly's wages, I thought they were skint? I seem to remember Dailly's wages were relatively massive when he was on loan to us a couple of years ago.
  11. He's a big mutha, no two ways about it. Exactly what we need, good at set-pieces at both ends of the pitch.
  12. He would be a very good signing, will be really impressed if we can get him. Would probably trigger a domino effect in that it would encourage other decent players to join.
  13. Jermaine Easter will score loads for MK Dons.
  14. Given that he won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup there and also very nearly won the League, that is astonishing.
  15. Think it was '99 at Cov. Good train trip that day.
  16. It makes a lot of sense to me. If two teams run away with automatic promotion, then the likelihood is that you'll have a number of teams just below bunched on much lower points totals and there's more scope for a team having to make up a -10 points situation to be able to still sneak into the top 6.
  17. Some nail scissors followed by about 4 tissues to blow your nose to get all the nasal hair fragments out seem to do it for me. Bizarrely my left nostril seems to get 10 times as much nasal hair as my right nostril, no idea why. PS Best to wash the nail scissors afterwards.
  18. My favourite Sir Bobby memory is from the season when we got to the Cup Final and we played Newcastle at home and drew 1-1 in a really good game. In the last few minutes, we nearly won it when O'Brien from Newcastle headed the ball against his own bar. In the post-match interview, the interviewer says to Sir Bobby something along the lines of "You must have had your heart in your mouth when O'Brien headed the ball against your own crossbar?" Completely deadpan, Sir Bobby replied: "Oh no, we practice that in training all the time." I thought that was a genius response to a pretty daft question. Top man.
  19. Somebody like Dele Adebola would do a cracking job in League 1.
  20. Yup, a very good player for Stockport as well. He is exactly the type of player we need now to put some backbone into the team.
  21. Voice of reason. Stern John really isn't worth getting worked up about. Yes, he did save us against Sheffield United on the final day the season before last, but if we'd let in an equaliser after he'd got sent off and consequently gone down, there wouldn't be half as many Saints fans getting worked up about him potentially joining Palace.
  22. Oh. I didn't realise that.
  23. A very sad man. Hope he doesn't get home too late tonight as he's got to be up early enough to turn up for work in Mummy and Daddy's bookshop in Petersfield. Hope Mummy did his favourite sandwiches to put in his lunchbox.
  24. Surely he wasn't doing his clang-a-lang thing with his bell and accompanied by his little ghey mates who are bare-chested apart from sets of braces? At a pre-season friendly FFS. The man is a waste of good food.
  25. Superb stuff from Trousers. Funniest thread in an absolute age. "Sod this, I'm going for a burger" was a moment of commentating genius.
