Walk across to Waterloo East, get a quick train to London Bridge, go and frequent one of the many boozers there for a few hours, then a shortish train trip from London Bridge to Charlton (20 minutes or so). Easy as pie.

At the risk of having a dodgy memory, apart from a couple of half-decent games for us, wasn't Henri Camara overall a bit sh1t?
-
And the fact that the helpful doorman told us we could go to the local Co-op shop a minute's walk away from the Merlin and then come back and drink our cans of beer outside the front entrance to the Merlin. Good work fella. Sadly as driver I didn't benefit, but decided to get in the longest queue for a chip shop i have ever seen in my life (the chippie by the ground); took half-an-hour to get served in there, about the same as the Merlin, truth be told. Clearly neither establishment was prepared for 3,000 of us turning up.

Does anybody know if we've got the whole away end? Tickets have arrived in the post and they're for Row G, a bit low down for my liking, wouldn't mind being able to move further back, which would obviously be easier if we've got the whole end and don't sell it out.

Think I'll be frequenting boozers near London Bridge.

Why oh why do you travel all that way to sit with your arms folded and try to prevent fans from trying to create an atmosphere? It's all well and good to say that there's plenty of room at the sides but it's an awful lot easier to get some noise going if you're in the middle, not least when therer's no roof on the away end.

What is it with Bournemouth fans?
Pat from Poole replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Muppet Show
When Saints were in the Prem, for Saints home games the trains from Weymouth would be half-full with Saints fans by the time the trains got to Bournemouth. You'd have quite a few coming from Charmouth, Weymouth, Dorchester and particularly Poole. If any Bournemouth fans happened to be on the train for their home games they'd be really bitter about the number of Saints fans living nearer Bournemouth than Southampton being on the train. Despite our demise, we are still massively more well-supported than them, even though they said we would get creowds of 5,000 in Div 3. They are a bunch of bitters. -
Andy Bishop at Bury.

Why would we sell the new Arjen Robben to Bristol Rovers?

And Olivier F***ing Bernard.

It's a difficult one; Swindon I'm sure will have raised their game given that they had a crowd almost double their average attendance due mainly to a big away following. I could imagine if I'd scouted them on a couple of other games (particularly their 5-0 defeat at Gillingham) I'd have given Pardew duff info.

There was a real gutbucket in the back row of our terrace in a grey Saints top, who spent the whole match berating our fans for not singing enough and not matching the vocal support of the Swindon fans. Easier for them when they have a roof and a team that actually moves so as to encourage them to give vocal support. Anyway, would be interested to see if the guy is a poster on here. I was quite surprised he didn't get a slap; not everybody is going to sing for 90 minutes, we just don't have that type of fanbase, accept it and enjoy the game FFS. My highlight of the night was the DISCO-type SUBSTITUTION demands in the second-half.

The comment about not knowing about the opposition is rather odd. There are loads of out of work ex-managers who I'm sure would go and watch a game for petrol money plus a few quid. Pardew must have loads of mates he could get to go and see games (Kevin Dillon?). It doesn't need to be somebody actually employed by the club, FFS he could have given me a hundred quid and I'd have gone and watched Swindon on Saturday and reported back that they're not as good as Millwall or Huddersfield.

Saints given a 3rd allocation of tickets for swindon
Pat from Poole replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I'll be surprised if we don't sell out the whole end behind the goal. -
Listening to Pardew interviewed on Solent after the game, I thought he sounded pretty keen to keep Rasiak.

Saints 0 Millwall 2

Rang up today and the ticket office told me it was sold out. I presume we will get more tickets?
-
Did they give you specific seat numbers or is it unreserved seating, would you know?

The "good in the air" bit will be pretty vital in this league.

How can Charlton afford Dailly's wages, I thought they were skint? I seem to remember Dailly's wages were relatively massive when he was on loan to us a couple of years ago.
-
He's a big mutha, no two ways about it. Exactly what we need, good at set-pieces at both ends of the pitch.
-
He would be a very good signing, will be really impressed if we can get him. Would probably trigger a domino effect in that it would encourage other decent players to join.
-
Jermaine Easter will score loads for MK Dons.

I don't normally comment but we are still a selling club!!!!

Given that he won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup there and also very nearly won the League, that is astonishing.
